If you spend $15 to eat at Denny's you have an eating disorder. Garbage outta the deli at J? :biggrin_25513: Now I know you have a eating disorder. It's good to get out of the truck and free your mind for a little while each day. You don't have to go broke eating out just eat sensible. I have done both ways and spend maybe $10-$20 more per week eating out then packing my own in the fridge.

Sure you should have a few things to eat in the truck but not your whole weeks worth. If you can't afford to eat at least one hot meal a day in a restaurant ( not fast food ) then you either don't know how to manage money or your working for the wrong company.

FYI, you can carry those microwaveable meals that cost $2-3 with you and not need an inverter or microwave to eat them. All truck stops have microwaves and I have never had one tell me I couldn't use it. But I think I'll spend the extra $5 and eat an actual meal but to each their own.

I do the same, just take my stuff into the hook, heat it up. I work for USA truck, my truck is a beater, I'm not screwing around with anything that could break this bad boy down, minimize my hassle.

Navigate to my stops, as quickly as possible, get the next load. Find an place to shut down at night and fuel, keep my simple stuff cold, sleep comfortable. Those are the requirements right now, at least when I started out, it's getting better. But for my needs those items I listed are essential to my success.

Why so negative? Bad mood? Eating disorder? Really? Order a normal meal at Denny's, they're $8-9, plus tax, plus a drink (another $2).. and we're at $12, plus a tip. That's pretty danged close to $15.

Why do I HAVE to eat in a resturant to meet your requirements? If momma made a killer stew, and it's waiting on me in the fridge, and I tell her, nah, I let that stew go bad, then ate at the TA.... not only would she be pissed, but I would have wasted money.

Has anyone ever informed you that there are more correct points of view than your own?

Otter is right, folks seem a bit edgy today, his exact word I think was "pissy", I'm out, enjoy.

Yessir, isn't that strange? Cool thing is that we can just navigate somewhere else, and the pissy person still hasn't to wade in their pissy pool. Good luck with that.

hot #### .... I just needed to know the best things to put in my truck.... hey its all about choice... if you choose to just run and sit in the truck all the power to you .. .I know I'll be out for awhile... no house, no wife etc.... so in other words to not burn my self out just want some small comforts.... whether I eat in denny's or out of my fridge.. just wanted an idea for a good one to have in my truck.... lol even with one I am sure I will catch a meal once a day somewhere... anyway thanks all for your comments. :)

After the small inverter, small microwave and fridge, I'm a minimalist... no TV, no satellite dish, none of that stuff.

I do, however, when I'm OTR, have an iron and ironing board with me, and my heavy starch - if you're going to the karaoke bar and wearing your cool boots, it's not cool to have wrinkled jeans and shirts..

I like to have a tv and a laptop. My truck has wireless internet so I can hook up my laptop to the tv and watch hulu or netflix. Its nice to have when sitting around waiting to unload.
