I take it you're finding WIFI where you are. How's that going? Anyone else? I found many connections along I-5 but none strong enough. Well, maybe at Rolling Hills Casino, but I wasn't that interested at that time, not enough to pay just yet. I saw sircomm come up but it wouldn't come in enough to finish registration. I heard some are using Sprint.

I wrote too soon. I looked on the Trucker's Tools & Toys forum and found a wealth of information.

Well we delivered the load In california that we picked up in New jersey Picked a budwiser load in cali going to denver but our truck broke down friday and it is still in the shop we are up in a motel now. Hopefully the pete dealership gets it running I am training in a 2007 387 pete it has the isx cummins and we were getting the engine shutdown warning we lost all throdle so we had to park and get the happy hooker to come tow us back to Fontana Ca.

The trainer wants me to test out for solo ASAP. He thinks that I am ready the good thing is that I will test out in his truck. He told me to tell the company to assign me a freightliner snub nose due to that is what I was trained in school in and I feel more comfortable with that kind of truck.
I really do not want a 379 the nose and turning radius throws me off.

I am defenatly going to get the wireless sprint card the Wifi is too crappy to try to get. I used a ta's once and every truck that would go in front of us would boot my connection.

    I will update you soon.

IF THAT DOESN"T SOUND FAMILIAR! Well, I guess we didn't have to get any hookers involved, or motel rooms, fortunately, uh or unfortunately.? :biggrin_25523: I'm gonna have to add this one to my story!:biggrin_2559:

If we would have stuck with the first repair shop we'd at least had room, t.v., internet & a big comfy bed. What the hell were we thinking?! Instead of a room with a view (or at least a roomy view) we were stuck with a crowded viewing room. (little t.v. sitting room at the OTHER shop) then with our overheating truck (unable to get an approved fix)we spent the night at the yard, in Fontana, after running out of hours! I'm jealous!

Right now we are at the Best Western in Relato Ca they have a shuttle that picked us up.

The wrecker had to drop our load at the Fontana yard before he droped us at pete.

I am hoping the next load goes to Denver I want a little more pratice on those mountains before I go solo.

I have drove mountains but I think the ones on I 70 are worst ones.

I will probaly be going that way alot the time to go home so the more pratice the better.

Also I hate the Ohio toll roads the toll booths are not to trucker friendly they are really tight as alot of you may already know.

Mountains aren't that bad. Just keep a cool head. Ohio toll booths do suck! Everytime I wenth through it was like a mad game of musical tolls. Everyone was darting from lane to lane trying to get to the fastest or open toll. Usually there is a oversize load in the outside lanes... I just look for a green light, stick in that lane, and slow it down.

I have to pull on a scale about 10 times a night here at a reciever that is about 110 inches wide. To make matters worse its at an angle to where you pull in, the building is right in the way, and the edges are I beams that slice up wheels and tires.

Then the unloading bay is in a bat cave of sorts.. up hill and the ramp inside is elevated off the ground 4 ft. It has runners on the sides but they are about 3 inches high.. so they won't do much good. That ramp is 108 inches wide... and I have a picture. You can't see your trailer after it goes inside the door. You just have to be straight. If you look real hard in the picture you can see the T-600 thats inside the hole already. (you have to look in the mirror in the pic)
Sometimes I miss the tight Ohio tolls. Haha! :biggrin_25523:

Well we are still broke down in cali but we are taking a older truck tomorrow just to get on the road.

The trainer got his behind chewed because apperantly no one communicates at the office to know that we have been sitting for 5 days he told a few people and they did not pass along the message. The main thing that torqued the guy off is that I have been sitting not driving when I was suppose to be getting trained.

Hopefully my trainer will let me drive instead of making wait untill he runs out of hours.
That is how it mostly worked so far.

He calls himself a mileage hoe I just put it nicer than he puts it.

Had the right person got notified they would of flown us to texas to pick up other trucks to return to the teminals from shops etc.

We picked up two trucks today arround cali and one of theose trucks we are taking with us.

The trainer told them to keep his new pete and give him a freightliner hopefully he will get to a terminal that has new freightliners so I can try to get the one we are leaving with.

Well I tried to test out for solo but I was failed due to the fact that I cut a turn to short ran over a double yellow line and a couple of minor things.

The guy that tested me was a by the book guy ''picky'' but they also tested me on backing passed with flying colors and then they also had me do their short backing program a little log book test.

I am still with a trainer going to test again in my home terminal not the main terminal this time.

The tester really belives that I can do it but he said that he had to fail me for those couple of things.

I explained that I was nervous etc he understood.

Once I solo out they will be issuing me a 379 most likely which I am not too happy about but within 1-3 months I will be getting a older 387.

I am not going to quit over a little issue like that I will have to pratice driving that truck.

that is all I have for now we are going to Pa with a load of apples from WA and OR.
