honestly, at this point, I don't mind if I lose my job. It's hard and I spend the majority of my hours putting up with stupid drivers, ignorant four wheelers at truck stops and low-brow behavior at shippers and consignees.
If I fail at this, I'll just move back to PA and make a living playing in bands, like I used to. I could pick up a part time day job and jam on the weekends. It actually pays the bills and the taxes aren't hard to file.
I just thought I'd be cut a break at home of all places, but I guess busy-bodies lurk everywhere... waiting to strike.mr.nobody Thanks this. -

You made it 2 months before the reality of trucking hit you right between the eyes.
At least you had the courage to come back here and tell everyone how miserable you are. I wont say I told you so....
ALOT OF DRIVERS TRIED TO WARN YOU!!!American-Trucker and 123456 Thank this. -
Yeah, I have no shame in admitting misery.
It's not Knight at all, though. They are awesome about paying me on time and communication. I had an emergency at home and they got me here fast.
I had to come take my girl for CT scan and X rays... she flipped her road bike at about 20 mph in construction in Phoenix. Split her helmet in half.
Knight has been great about everything so far... my gripe has only been with poor truck stop service and shippers/consignees being rude.
My favorite was a potato run I picked up North of Kennewick, Washington.
I spent forever scaling the load. I get the tandems set and we pulled off 300-500 lbs to make it even. I wasn't over gross, but we just couldn't get the weights legal without pulling a little off. Shifting the taters wasn't helping.
So the office lady gives me a seal and locks the office door...with her keys. I figure out that the seal is damaged and won't lock. She says "I don't have the keys to get back in" What a liar! I know it's silly, but this is the kind of thing I put up with at most places.
Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico, CA is a huge exception. Those guys were polite and got me in and out right away. Plus, they have a killer vending machine full of delicious treats!
I'm just glad I finally got a few days off. I'm actually ready to get back out there whenever they get a load out for me.
