Got a few this week.
Had a fella the other day that I stopped. He opens the door and I introduce myself and catch the glimpse of a wood grain pistol grip on the floor by the gear shifter. After removing him from the truck, it's a loaded .38. No concealed carry permit and a convicted felon.
Had one fella who couldn't add up his sleeper to 10 hours. He thought 9 hours was good enough. Then he was ready to fight when I explained that he had already driven for 18 hours without a qualified 10 hour rest period.
Had one fella with a stolen trailer and switched registration plates.
A lot of out of service vehicles this week. Tie rods with excessive play, 4 of them. Lots of brake and tire issues as well.
It was a busy week with some characters.
Just some of the stupid things I see

Sheesh! is it really that hard to count out 10 hours?
-
Especially when you live on the central time and the terminal is on the eastern time.
Many times I am in the process of the log and I look at the clock and add an hour, then withhout thinking, I might add another on the page when drawing the line.
Usually catch it because of the driving time and the follow up on DDL. -
And I've always wondered, when you pass one of those Petes where you can't see the driver in the side window, could he be logging that as being in the sleeper? -
Although I will say I would find it highly amusing to watch that truck get DOT'ed! lol
