A little off topic but with a General Lee can you have the receiving end of it turned up? My radio gets out loud and proud but with hearing back its pretty weak and I was just curious if there is anything that can be done for that.

It was imported as a 10 meter radio, meaning aligned at the factory to run around 200 channels above where you use it. Very few shops properly re-align it. At best they rip out TR32 and bend a coil (causing cold solder joints by the way). If I see 1,000 Galaxy class radios*, around three of them were aligned for the new use. All the rest are deaf as a post on 11 meters. And/or have butcher swing and whack mods added, run away from bad mods. I include final volting mods in the bad category no matter how many defend the idea.

Go get it properly aligned at a shop where they have a service monitor, someone who knows how to use it (and actually does). If they go in back for 20 minutes how do you know they were not watching Gilligan's Island instead of working on the radio?
