I saw in the manual they had the artic option for the coolant warmer but wasn't sure if ours had that.

The one I had ran all the time in null mode. I think the batteries were junk so it just kept running to charge them. I guess they would rather pay for the extra fuel than fix it or replace the batteries. I preferred that is ran all night, easier to sleep that way and kept my cooler nice and cold.

They have a switch on them that once it drops below a certain temp, the fan on the unit does not run, it uses all the coolant in the truck to cool the APU and that keeps the main motor warm, so it will start.

I have been looking around the truck stops lately and I have noticed except for schnider roehl seems to be running some of the oldest trucks as far as major carriers are concerned...I know we prebought alot of trucks but we have alot of old dogs still on the road...

The current buy is taking awhile to work through. Just like the one in 05-06. I'm sseing more and more of the newer trucks out heere and when I signed my new truck on in May, Truck Country was bringing in at least twenty trucks a day for processing...

Yeah I've been seeing a ton of flatbed 2011 Internationals running around lately. Now I just need one.

Oh they've figured it out... Trust me.... Consider... After three years, the trucks have all been depriciated to zero. Anything after that is just an added bonus. By holding on until the 5 year point or 600K plus miles, the company is able to then declare a loss on the real market value of the truck when it goes to auction.... The realized return is then applied to the purchase of new equipment and the cycle starts all over again reducing the declared profit from equipment sales.....

For years, ROEHL would incrimentally replace it's older equipment. In 2006, they purchased a large number of new trucks but then the economy went sour. Fuel soared to close to $4.00 a gallon, freight tightened up and ROEHL was caught with excess inventory and no way to roll them into the fleet without taking a huge tax bite.

Add to that the purchases of Bloom and Ort equipment, and ROEHL all at once had an unforseen surplus of aging but still usable equipment.

As the fleet aged, most of the 07 purchase were added but the tax benifits were reduced. Now everything is starting to even out again, and ROEHL once again is able to "restart" the cycle to add newer equipment. Also, the 07 purchase sat for so long that the trucks ended up being maintenance nightmares. Ergo, they cost more to fix, and their warranties were dated to the time they had originally been delivered, instead of the time they were actually placed in service.

my 07 has been good to me so far no real issues (knock on wood)...so I wont mind hanging on to her a for a while...and since I am a rookie I didn't expect a brand new truck...but I am already on truck number 2 since the first one they put me in was already sold.....which sucked because just as I was getting used to her I dropped her in marshfield and picked up my new baby (well new to me) in new jersey...I have been really happy with her and really enjoy the APU goodness she brings me!! But don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind a shiny new Cascadia like my buddy got...

Mic they will run your truck to 500k or so, and then put you in something different. I have been lucky, had two different brand new trucks at Roehl, and other that a couple minor problems they were good trucks. I saw other guys get new trucks, and spend more time in the shop than a truck with a million miles on it. I guess it is just luck of the draw. I also got one of the "new" 07 trucks that sat for three years, and that was a train wreak. The second week I had it the transmission came apart.
