cwc Thanks this. -
Someone mentioned the International Pro Star's before too, which look really, really nice.. are they using them, or are they just sticking with the cascadia's???
I still would like to see some pictures of the inside of these "cute" trucks.. -
I have probably seen and read the answer a bunch of times on the Prime forum, but I'm going to ask anyway. I am trying to make a decision about where to get my CDL training - Prime or my local school - because of some recent developments in my personal world. Assume that Prime accepts my school and money is no object.
Who can tell me about how many days between arrival at Prime and receipt of my CDL? 30 days? 15? More than 30? -

imo, i would seriously consider using the prime school o get your cdl and initial training.
reasons are; that prime does not actually pay for your schooling outside. they will reimburse you $250.00 per month for up to 6 months in training OR until you get your own truck. as where if you go to the prime school. you get paid $200 per week up until you take your driving test, note, from what i have heard you only get 2 chances to take the cdl test there. you fail, you go home. 10k miles i do believe with an instructor. after that it is $500 per week for the first 5 weeks and $600 per week after that. but my understanding is you will have a signed contract with prime for a year or two of service to "pay back" for the schooling. but that seems an easier option than going into prime from an outside school with cdl in hand. which was the route i went. has been a little difficult getting the "reimbursement"cwc Thanks this. -
All you have to do is show recruiting your grad certificate from the driving school. The rest is usually automatic.
BTW... the PSD guys get the $600/12-cpm guarantee from the point they get their CDL and are hired on-board. Its a 1-year commitment to get the tuition forgiven... that's not really such a big deal. You sign contracts for cellphones and vehicle payments that are longer than that. It's not like you signed your life on the line in the defense of your country for four years. -
How long from PSD to CDL?

my understanding, 100 hrs with an instructor to get permit. 10k miles with an instructor to prepare for license test. then another 30k with a trainer to get own truck. course that is all based on a favorable evaluation from your instructor. iow. more if needed. think the average is 4k to 5k per week, depending. now if i am incorrect i am sure someone will correct what i said.
