hey there i fired you off a resume i talked to you earlier but you phoned lookin for my father i gave him your fax number hope you dont mind and i tried faxin your brothers company but the fax number listed on the site was a phone number a lady picked up

 

totally agree when i first went out there i was told you only work 8- 10 hours a day then get do it again next day. to my surprise and delight i ended up workin 14-16 hours ever day because i am the type of worker that ask is there something else needed to be done. besides i am there to work right why not take the hours i can get. as for food in camp you work the 16 hours shift it all tastes good. mind you its not gourmet well some camps are close but he its grub if you dont like it they always got cereal and toast there make it yourself. and you will experience new things all the time and challenges along the way. and when someone calls me for work i am gone. i dont mind the cold, long hours, or even camp food. cheers all

 

You think like the guys who are working here. They are here to work and take home as much as they can while they are here. There is always a give and take. What are you willing to give up to get what you want? Time and the comforts of home? That's what it takes. The people and the industry here great. It's a safe and friendly work environment. I'm sitting on lease right now with a guy from Newfoundland, one from Nova Scotia and another who just showed up for the winter from Vancouver. Great guys to work with. We need more good people. Like I said, the jobs are here. If your here you will get hired.

Hey when I talked bunk houses I mean shared accommodations.. Like in the military bunk houses... Where you can have 4 people to a room or where there is separate rooms but shared bathroom/showers..

I am not concerned about food, living conditions etc.... As for "living" part the only thing I would be concerned about is having a place to stay after that I don't care if I had to sleep in a room shared with people, or sleeping in the truck.. All I wanna know is that I don't have to pay anything (or very minimal) cause with the big price tags on homes it wouldn't make it worth my while to make big money out there but then have to turn around and spend it on a mortgage or high rent... For me.. the only way its worth moving there for the big bucks is if you don't have to spend big bucks to live out there in the first place...

Again other then that I could care less... Hell I would be more concerned about working then anything else.. When I am working I don't really eat I am not concentrated on eating I am concentrated on working... I would work 16-18hrs a day as I just wanna spend 2-3 years working my ### off to make the money come back home buy a nice house back home and get a laid back job at home.... This is only of course if I lost my City job..

I'm heading back for thanksgiving for 3 days and then staying here till christmas. After that ill prob be here until spring breakup. Eating dinner in hinton right now on my way to grand cache.

 

I have stayed at several man-camps in WY and Colorado. And of the conditions of the camps in Canada are as bad as the camps in WY, you should be concerned. I got the flu from one camp and the other was shut down due to "bugs" in the beds.
4 guys farting and snoring in a small room sucks if you are a light sleeper.

can you give me information in regards to working on camp jobs on oil rigs. how much do they usually pay for a new guy (no experience) is it a lot of hrs everyday and so on. any information would be appreciated. one company contacted me yesterday and today they did phone interview. I'm told in couple of days site manager will contact me for on site interview in lloydminster. I had applied for driver position. they also asked if I am willing to work up to 21 days before time off. How much salary I should say that is reasonable for truck driver/labourer for these camp jobs? (they are willing to train me).
