I haven't even started classes yet and have already gotten three prehires - TMC, Schneider, and US Ex. Likely going to go with US Ex for the first year because I can't leave my puppy at home for weeks at a time. I'd get homesick without him. Hehehe.

Anyway - ready to get out and driving. Tired of waiting. Just quit my ##### job in town because i was tired of it. Minimum wage with no a/c in a kitchen. took out a loan covering school and all of my expenses for the next few months - already went and bought some supplies like perscription sunglasses, the lay flat atlas, etc.

Just ready to get rolling! Three weeks till class starts...

Hey Tomy, hope you're still around these forums - I'm in my 3rd week at Coastal and have been in Frank's truck for the last couple of weeks. He's got me ready to test out next week, really can't wait to get out of there and start making $$$!

Anyway - I'm probably headed to KLLM in a couple of weeks. Got the prehire from them yesterday, also have TMC, USXpress, Schneider, Arnold, WSE, and a few others wanting me to sign on. Having the terminal in Jackson, MS is a huge plus for me because I'm eventually going to relocate into MS. The full tuition reimbursement was a big bonus as well, Schneider and a few others were only offering $3k. CAN'T WAIT TO GET ON THE ROAD!!!

Anyway, just wanted to pass word along that I'm getting through it. Spent many days in Manchac going up and down that service road! We even spotted an alligator that washed up on the shore, looked like he had taken some bait and bled to death from having the hook in his jaw too long.

Hope to see you around. I've made the promise to keep the free Coastal hat that they gave us on the dash of my truck!

Hey guys I live in the Hammond area and have visited Coastal before. I already have my CDL but I am looking for a school that will teach 13, 15, 18 speed transmissions does coastal have that?

Graduating from Coastal tomorrow morning - headed to get my "Gold Card" with all endorsements at 8am, then we get our certificates around noon.

For those in the area looking to get in the industry, I give a full recommendation to Coastal. Job placement officer is there to help all the way through the course, and the instructors there are pretty awesome. For those worried about the $5k price tag, they have a list of all of the jobs that pay tuition reimbursement.

I've landed with KLLM and will be at their orientation on Monday morning. Should be out on the road with a trainer on Thursday! New career in just four weeks, just as Coastal advertises!

Congrats on graduating and getting your gold card. I already have mine with all the endorements and a word of advice STUDY hazmat it is really difficult. Also I may head to Coastal for a refresher course because no company will take me with out experience unless I have gone to a school.

Congratz Zantrix! I knew you could do it. Just know that orientation is going to be tougher but you can do it...take one day at a time and don't forget that these trucking companies want you...but then again you'll be easily to replaced! So pay attention to what you are being told...follow their instructions!

I just went back to the DMV and picked up my doubles and triples. You might want to consider that since all this stuff is fresh in your mind...study the trailer section in your manual. I just studied the chapter test questions...memorized them and past the hazmat, tanker, and triples. Having all the edorsements gives you more options once you get your time in with KLLM.

    Zantrix Thanks this.
