Unbelievable!!
Guard uses Taser on man holding newborn
By JUAN A. LOZANO, Associated Press Writer 59 minutes ago
HOUSTON - In a confrontation captured on videotape, a hospital security guard fired a stun gun to stop a defiant father from taking home his newborn, sending both man and child crashing to the floor. Now William Lewis says his baby girl suffers from head trauma because she was dropped.
"I've got to wonder what kind of moron would Tase an adult holding a baby," said George Kirkham, a former police officer and criminologist at Florida State University. "It doesn't take rocket science to realize the baby is going to fall."
Lewis, 30, said the April 13 episode began after he and his wife felt mistreated by staff at the Woman's Hospital of Texas and they decided to leave. Hospital employees told him doctors would not allow it, but Lewis picked up the baby and strode to a bank of elevators.

It was his child for God's sake. He has every right to walk out the door. A doctor is not God his word isn't law. Oh well can't feel to sorry for him, he's about to be a millionaire.

That guard should be slowly & horribly tortured to death over the course of one week, live on national television.
The appropriate monetary award should be about $1,000,000,000 for each of them. -
Yea usually I'm anti lawsuit but this is ridiculous. Freakin rent a cop just overstepped his bounds. I hope he gets millions. Or at least the security guard should be traumatized and fired.....dumb-###

In my opinion, this adds new demension to the meaning of the word "STUPID"!!! I think if I had been the Mommy standing there, there would have been alot more issues, because I would have flat out ATTACKED someone!! (But then I am NOT normal. LOL!)
Sue 'em for MILLIONS, but that won't fix the baby's issues, unfortunately.

This type of an incident brings out the worst that's for sure in people.
Those RENT A COPS are afraid of their own shadows half the time and don't really know what to do with someone who is giving them flack.
Be careful people with these guards out there...you say BOO to them and you going to get it. -
This guard would not be safe as long as he lived anywhere near me after this. If this was me, and my kid that this happened to, I would be constantly searching for this idiot.
-
No one knows what the guard was told. For all he knew there was a man stealing a baby. Did he know who the guy was? "Rent-a-cops", like most people in security positions aren't given a time consuming explaination of a critical situation, they are expected to stop the situation.
I'm not saying he was right, but I guarantee there are more factors involved than have been released to the press. -
