Thius was basically yesterdays news until the dumb girl decided to file a lawsuit. It was no longer on the front page, it was no longer email fodder, people basically forgot about it. They weren't being victimized, nobody was going to recognize them on the street as being part of that team and it certainly wasn't going to come into play in any future job interviews. They weren't going to be denied a job because they were on the basketball team that got called nappy headed hos.

Even the settlement between Imus and CBS only got a little commentary from the news discussion. It only got thrust back into the limelite when the girl filed her lawsuit and decided to have her picture plastered in every newspaper and on every TV program.

Oh please!!!! Then why don't they start sueing all of these rappers that rap about nappy headed b##ches and hos. Whose music is totally degrading to black women everywhere. This is a clear case of I'm black so pay me. This is hypocrisy at it's finest. Funny how this came up after he settled with CBS for $20mil. No one is sticking up for the WHITE girls on this team. I don't care if it's one or 21, what about them. I know plenty of nappy headed white girls.

    How can I explain this.

I know you have kids, so do I. As a parent would you appreciate some news person, talk show host attacking your child, making your child the butt of an off color joke in a similar way to millions of other people? Think about what this team lost because of this incident. Don Imus took a period of time away from these girls that they deserved, that they worked for. I feel they have every rigt to recover that loss.

It easy for people to disconnect themselves from this by looking from the outside in. It's easy to say this is only about the money, and it might be. But that doesn't change the fact of what happened, happened and Don Imus hold responsibility for it. Don Imus needs to be sued for these comments to create a wake up call for these arrogant, idiot shock jocks that think attacking people's characters is funny, that think the more insulting you are the funnier it is. People wonder why kids have no respect anymore, people wonder why people seem detached from personal responsibility, it's because our entertainment world has gone down this path. It's because being insulting and attacking people is accepted as entertainment in this country.

I guess free speech is not a right anymore.

Besides, the girl who is suing Imus was not mentioned specifically by Old Don.

Sure sounds like a money grab to me.

The reason Don Imus is responsible to the Rutgers Women's basketball team is because he directly made defamatory comments about those women to MILLIONS of people. These girls are college atheletes that did nothing to provoke those comments or attacks, NOTHING. You simply can not attack people that way. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, if Don Imus' comment was a general statement, and not a direct statement he would not be in trouble. He would still have a job. But when you point at someone and attack them in this way, you're liable for your comments.

    READ GOOFBALL!!!!

    I already addressed this issue.

To me they are all worthy to recieve damages from Don Imus, because the damage was done to everyone on the team. Not just the black players. But the comment of NAPPY HEADED HO's was a racially charged statement, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what Don Imus' intent was, and who he was directing his comments to.

You're right, I do have kids. Two of them to be exact, but I'm not going to teach my kids to whine and complain about every little thing that happens in life. I wonder how many times in that girls life she harshly picked on someone, or dogged white people. They talked about Jesus Christ what makes you think they're not going to talk about me and you. I'll raise my children to be a good bit more thick-skinned than this whiney brat. Besides that where's her counterparts? Why isn't it the whole team? Spare me the I'm a poor little insecure brat routine. I'm extremely Freudian in my thoughts. Everyone of us is a nasty, sick, selfish, egotistical slob and we spend our whole lives pretending we're not to hide the beast within. Life is what it is and people should stop making excuses for falling weak. She saw an opportunity to get money and is taking it. Plain and simple typical sue happy America along with I'm a minority so pay me.

Free speech always had rules, always.

If this would have happen to any of your childern, any of the white precious little darlings that came from your seed, I gurantee you, you would not have a problem taking a mulit-millionaire dollar ####### that ruined one of the biggest achievments in your childs life to court for damages. I gurantee you wouldn't have a problem with it. But since most of you view these girls as nappy headed ho's, it's easy for you to disconnect yourself from the real damaged that was done.

What quantifiable damage exactly has been done?

Look, I'll agree that it was a dumb thing to say, but this girl still has a full ride scholarship to Rutgers University. Her standing on the team is not affected.
How is money from Don Imus going to change what happened anyway?
