So the company wants you to drive junk equipment that should be OOS, in violation of HOS regs, and they are going to give you grief if you don't???

Brother, WHY ARE YOU STILL WORKING FOR KNIGHT???

They don't give a #### about you or your issues! It will only get worse. How many more opportunities are you going to give this company to screw you over???

This is the last one. I really want to hold out for at least my one year so I can move forward, but we'll see what happens.

There's a new policy on new drivers, too. We're not supposed to be driving overnight. Too many accidents and deaths from driving fatigued and too fast for conditions. New drivers apparently have a tendancy to overdrive their headlights.

That's what caused my dispute with a different dispatcher. I wasn't even supposed to be given the load I refused in the first place, but I will take them if I'm awake enough to drive and my regular dispatcher approves it.

Things are good. Still waiting for my tractor to finish being serviced. Just takes longer when you need a bunch of tires and a new windshield. They have to call a guy in for the glass work.

I'll reply again when I hear more.

Knight is good... it's just the laziness of a few of the people at some of the shops. They seem to look at all drivers as stupid for needing things.

What the shop doesn't know is that I had some bung hat use the shoulder to pass me on the 101 near I-5 in California. When he swerved around me (he had nobody blocking him on my passing side... possible drunk or just someone stunting) he threw several rocks up and one hit my glass just right and cracked it.

The shop is good at assuming all damage on the trucks is due to the stupidity of drivers. Not in my case.

    Later.

Your a better man then me. I tend to counter stupidity with hostility.

Don't even have to do that. Just say "Ok, can you send me that denial of service to the truck on the QC please?" Or better yet, just have the entire conversation on the QC.

When they demand you call them to talk about it, tell them your cellphone battery is dead or you are out of hours. They do NOT want to have a conversation about you continuing to run an unsafe truck where it WILL be recorded. Been there, done that with Arrow. Told my dispatcher I ran out of hours on my phone, had to chat via the QC about that bad trailer they wanted me to pull.

After an hour or so, they had me pull it down the street to get it fixed.

Okay. It's been 5 days since I turned my tractor in for a new windshield and 4 tires. I'm about to call in, but I won't be surprised if they're just ignoring me and hoping I'll go away.

I guess no company likes a driver that refuses to drive unsafe equipment.

If the call goes well, I will continue to work.

If the call does not go well, I will call AIT and try to hook up with something else.

It's not like I'm a slouch. I've been running solo since July. Never bothered them about things. I'm only asking to remain safe and legal. It's not like I'm demanding a brand new tractor with a 13 or 18 speed in it... I just want tires with safe tread and a windshield without an 8 inch crack in it!

    Stoney and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

windshield is replaced, but not tires. I guess they don't replace the tires unless tread is damages all the way across where damage exists in the tread. "they are to spec" says safety.

I'm willing to bet they'd never drive my truck on those tires, but they expect me to.

Did they put that in writing? If so, get inspected by DOT and see what they say about it, then let Knight send a wrench out to the scale to replace the tires. Very expensive mistake on their part getting tires done on the road, and if you show DOT where the shop said they were spec, they may just give you a warning.

Sometimes, getting shut down with bad company equipment is a GOOD thing.
