I have a Happy Chicken avatar and profile picture. It shows the chicken dancing in the profile picture, but for my avatar it will not dance. What is wrong with it?
I also attached the chicken to this post.

Probably because the forum had to resize it.
Let me see what I can do. -
Save this to your computer and upload it. It should work.
Hold on, technical difficulties
I have it resized and working in ImageReady, trying to upload. -
Okay, now save it and reload as avatar. If it don't work, let me know and I'll cut half the frames out. They repeat twice.
-
He dances on the screen in the post and on my computer, but he won't dance as an avatar...lol
I guess I will mess with in PSP when I get time. If you think you can cut out the frames I would appreciate it. -
I think that you have to host the avatar elsewhere to get it to animate. I'll look into this further and post back here.

Ok. Thanks. I looked thru the FAQ's and couldnt' find anything to help me.

I'm sorry, I found the problem. It's not the host.
On .gif animations and all avatars the forum only allows 80 x 80 pixels max.
If you upload a .gif animation that is bigger, the forum will only resize the first frame, hence no movement.
When I resized it since it's rectangular, I set it at 70 x 80. For some reason after checking the properties, it now says 70 x 81. The forum is trying to resize 1 dang pixel.
I went back and downsized it to 78 pixels. It'll work now. I tested it in my avatar.
Delete the old one I made from your computer. Then right click and save this one to your computer. Then go upload as avatar.
Admin and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
CC very cool that you found the issue. I was scoping out Guyslady's avatar and her's animates but is only 64X64, so you are correct. The size is determinant to the animation.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.
