Seems like my background took 10 or 14 days about. I didn't even know it was done until I received a copy of it in the mail from the p.i.
To answer an earlier post, no my wife is not a pastry chef, more along the lines of a Betty Baker type. She like to do breads but gets lazy and uses the bread machine from time to time. She makes several killer variations on banana bread and her cookies are the best I've ever had. I'm alright with batter stuff but pretty hopeless about any other baking (compared to my wife anyway). We actually have about every kitchen gadget known to man including TWO high end Kitchen Aides. And unlike most other home cooks, we actually use everything we own. Makes cooking so much easier when you have the right crap. I got spoiled working in professional kitchens.
When I get around to buying a house I'm going to put a pro kithen in first thing.
I get on the big silver bird bound for Fort Worth next Saturday night. Get in to DFW around noon on Sunday. Gives me the rest of the day to finish studying for the written and catch up on some z's. Pretty excited but bummed at the same time seeing as how I won't see the family and critters for several months. Oh, well. A guy has to do what a guy has to do for a paycheck, n'est-ce pas (or, as they say in Texas, nez paw)?

what kind of trucks does FFE drive

My wife is all about the baking and all the baking gadgets that go with it. I am hopeless when it comes to baking , come to think of it it was nightmare week for my entire culinary class that week we had to bake. Professional kitchens are awesome in the future we also would like to upgrade the kitchen (we need the house first) as well. I don't think we will go full blown professional kitchen but we will step it up above the average kitchen.
Dennis you'll be home before you know it. The difference will be that you will be a driver for FFE and have nice big truck. I to feel the same way. No one wants to be away from family, but we do this for our families.
Good luck and try to keep us posted on your progress if you have time.
Just saw an FFE truck on my way home, I couldn't get a look at the truck number. I could help but think in a couple of months that will be me. Keeping Figures crossed=] -

Edmund, you really surprised with all the layoffs they are doing at the moment? I think FFE just tried to do too much and overloaded their plates.

They didn't give you no reason? A company has to give you a reason. Did anything happen in training like a accident or anything?
-
Wait... what???? you just completed phase 2 training and instead of keys to a truck they hand you a one way ticket on the bus? With NO EXPLANATION? I am glad that you have a back up plan in place, but can you shed a little light on this situation? I am one week behind you in training, and do not want a bus ride home as my reward for 8 weeks of training. If you can Edmund, please share a little more details. Thanks.
