No on both counts, and the max inverter they allow is in the neighborhood of 600w

My trainer had a 1500w inverter that the shop installed at the yard. So depends on who you ask.

Hick I only have a 150w inverter. It runs my flat screen DVD combo TV. My refrigerator plugs into the truck. What else do you need?

Yea the per diem seems pretty good to me. Thanks Chad

Well I guess the only thing I'd want to add might just be somewhere to plug my laptop in to charge it and a microwave. Why do companies frown upon APU's and inverters in the trucks?

Numbers on spreadsheets are the reason why APU's are overlooked. APU's pay for themselves in fuel savings over the long haul. its hard to justify the upfront costs if the truck is not going to be kept for an extended period. It is my understanding that FFE does not own the tractors outright, but in fact leases them. If that is the case, they are obligated to turn their trucks in with low miles, thus making it close to impossible to realize any significant savings to justify the costs.

As for the inverters, well I guess they don't like it when the trucks burn up on the side of the road but it could be for any number of reasons, i guess...

lionheart0901 and THE PLAYMAKER Thank this.
