Since you are a 'thinker'....let me run this past you....

Atomic bombs...mined from the energy already here on earth...energy that is manipulated and greatly amplified...any bomb as far as that goes...

    Or any chemical substance...

Now lets apply that to the brain...

The brain is vast and mysterious...it seems to have the capacity to do a lot more...but it's like a catalitic converter has been placed on it, or a 'governer', the way goveners are put on vehicles to control speed...

Or a series of switch valves in a Dam....

These valves are not meant to be open for a reason...

Sometimes I wonder if drugs and alcohol open up these valves and release certain 'energies' that weren't meant to be released...

Is that why people often do thinks while drunk or on drugs, that they never would while sober?

I mean do we all have within each of us, a host of 'spirits', good and bad...and are like drugs or alcohol the keys to which allow the 'bad' ones out?

I'm sure a scientist would give a much more 'chemical' explaination for it...

But I also don't think labratory science should ever stop us from thinking and pondering the unknown....

I'm not a scientist, GC, but I think I can at least partially answer your question here. Alcohol and certain drugs do work chemically on the mind, to lower your inhibitions. What they do NOT do, is to change your basic personality.

This is why you have quite a difference in people when they are under the influence. We all have been around the "mean drunk." And we all have been around the "crying drunk." And some of us may have even been around, (or been,) the "horny drunk!"

Again, the drugs lower the brain's ability to "put on a show" as far as masking what a person's real personality is.

It is one VERY GOOD reason to make sure you see your fiance on a good drunk, before you get married. It will tell you more about their personality than years of living together will!

Greed only controls a person if he or she practices the vice of greed and develops a disposition for evil. However, practicing virtues develops in a person a disposition for good, and true good is a treasure no one can ever take from another.

As far as dead trees standing, there are three things every human must have to be fully human: 1) nourishment 2) something to live for 3) something to die for.

Not on the road, but when I was 17 or so, some of my buddies and I went out to a cemetary way out in the boondocks that was supposed to be VERY haunted. and I saw some strange things the few times I was out there.

here is a link to some info about the cemetary sepiaresearch.tripod.com/id15.html (I think that is the website I'm looking for, work computer has a block on web hosting sites) Either who, it's called Coon Hill Cemetary in Santa Rosa County Florida

    1. First time me and a buddy went out there during the day to scope the place out, the nearest house is 5 - 6 miles away at least, and we are leaving, walked to either side of the enterance road along the woods to relieve ourselves, and both of us just stopped and looked at eachother. We had both heard a voice tell us "This is just the beginning"

    2. Out there with a group of friends, while on the back of the cemetary, we hear the most vicious dog you've ever heard in the woods right there. so of course, we decided to go find it (the woods are only about 20 foot thick on that side then open field for miles where they had been clear cutting) THERE WAS NOTHING THERE AND THE NOISES STOPPED, as soon as we went back into the cemetary and away from the cemetary, it started again.

3.There is a grave off in the far corner, I don't remember the story of the person, but the person was supposedly extremely evil. We set a brand new voice recorder on the headstone and walked to the other side of the cemetary, where we could still see it. 20 mins later I went to get it, and it was on the ground about 10ft from where I put it, and all that was on the recording was a deep creepy laugh before it ended.

    4. had another recording while walking past a gravel covered family plot where you could clearly hear a gravelly voice saying "help me"

    5. You could what sounded like small children playing and people marching out there, mind you this is 2-3 am with the nearest house being 5-6 miles away.

    6. The one that did it for me, and I refused to ever go back, was one night, we were in the cemetary, and all of the front gates shut, loudly, and my Dodge Diesel I had at the time, started, by it self. I took of running over there thinking someone was jacking my truck, but nope, it shut off right as I jumped the wall, truck was still locked everything in place.

Another crazy one from a local cemetary I USED to help maintain (key word used to, until this) I was driving around the circle that leads around the cemetary one day on my way to word, and it is POURING rain, I mean flash flooding type pouring. I round the 2nd bend, there is a small fire in the middle of the road. I get out, and look at it, and the fire was not hot, I could stick my hand right in it and I felt nothing, kicked some dirt over it, and it went right out, never figured that one.

(This one has nothing to do with supernatural, but still hilarious)

I had this girl, that wanted to have some adult time in the back seat of my Bronco, so we pulled off in a cemetary near where we both lived, and both of us had stripped and as I'm climbing into the back seat, I stepped on her sons (not with us at the time of course) kids toy that screams in this high pitched voice "PEKA-BOO I SEE YOUUU!!!!" I hauled ### out of there naked, hahaha.

    Straight answer: NO

Don't believe on god either, Santa clause for grown ups, do you really think if there were a supernatural force or a god that this much suffering or attrocities would be allowed carried out in his name, no matter who your god is? Let me know your thoughts!

I think there are things from beyond(at least paranormal). I experienced this once when i was shut down early afternoon at a truckstop just outside st. Albans, Vermont. I had my windows down, and back then that part of the lot was a gravel/dirt mix. Anyone walking past my truck, or near it, i would have clearly heard footsteps. I was sitting in the bunk chatting online, when out of the corner of my eye i saw the shape of a female carrying what could been her dog or a small child. No sound of footsteps, no voices, nothing. She walked past the right side of the truck, i jumped up to see who had walked by, not even a second later, there was nothing. No one walking over to the building next door, at that point she shouldve been no further than the middle of my trailer, but she was gone.

Was on a highway somewhere deep in Louisiana following a tour bus from a show. Up ahead I saw a tall thin figure. He was wearing a long black trench coat and black hat, standing on the edge of the pavement. I was surprised when he didn't step back as the tour bus went by, but rather he actually reached out and it almost appeared that he touched the side. Every person (4 total) in my vehicle saw him as we passed. He made no effort to move, so we veered to the passing lane. His face and hands were ghastly white.

Another time, I was driving to work around 3:30 in the morning. It was on a back road in Mississippi, near the Louisiana line. I was probably going about 35 or so, as it was raining and the road is a winding road with no lines or anything. It's dangerous enough in daylight normal conditions. Anyway, I'm driving along and suddenly this jet black horse just flies out of the woods on a side trail. There's a rider decked out in black cloak with hood and everything. Horse must've been blasting at full speed and the cloak was just whipping in the wind. They must've ran for 1/4 mile or so and then darted off down another side trail and disappeared into the darkness. A buddy was riding with me. I looked over at him and he looked at me and we both said something along the lines of "did you ****ing see that?!"

I generally don't believe in the supernatural...
I have never faced anything extraordinary in my life. I guess our imagination likes to play evil games with us.

In August, 2010 I was fueling up at a Pliot in Knoxville, TN one night about 12:30 am, when I saw an orange orb in the sky to the north of me. It appeared to be a few thousand feet up in the air and it moved from the west steadily to the east. It did not have flashing lights like an airplane, and it seemed to be moving too slow even for a small aircraft. I stopped walking and looked around to see if anyone else had noticed it and when I looked back up in the sky it was gone. I had watched it for half a minute or so before it disappeared, but no one else at the fuel islands seemed to notice it. Needless to say I spent the rest of the night pondering what I saw. I won't soon forget that.
