    Hello Everybody,

Been stalking the forums for weeks now, first time post.

I have been in talks back and forth with Tabitha, one of Prime's Recruiters.

One of the issues is the BMI / Sleep Apnea issue.

Many people on these forums, and I mean MANY have said that if they determine you have a BMI of 39+, that you would require Sleep Apnea Testing.

That is all fine and dandy, but THIS is the problem. A majority of you on these forums have been saying that if they determine it, that Sleep Pointe at Campus Inn will do it, and that it would be $150 for the test, and about $2000 for the CPAP, which can be taking out of your paycheck.

THIS is what Tabitha The Recruiter says:

    -----------

Eric Gibbs to Tabitha Nov 16 (1 day ago)

Is it true that we can get the sleep study done in Springfield? I read that if you need a Sleep Study and/or CPAP machine that Prime will allow you to have it deducted from your pay?

On the sleep study, no that is really for our current drivers.

Eric Gibbs to Tabitha Nov 16 (1 day ago)
So if I were to come to Springfield, using a bus ticket provided by Prime, Inc., if I were found to have a BMI of over 39, I would have to find a way back home, do a study, and then find a way back to Springfield?

    -----------

Well… lets settle this… is your BMI a 39 or above? If it is I suggest you get the sleep study done before coming to orientation so you don’t get sent to do one. There are BMI calculators online, just type that in and several will pull up you can check if you know your height and weight.

In my opinion, she seemed a little rude about it, but that is my opinion, and I won't let one employees attitude on one day deter me. I am just all sorts of confused, because everyone on here is saying they can do it there, and have it taken out of my pay.

If not, I do NOT have insurance at the moment, and testing starts at like $2,500 for one night...

I would call up and talk to another recruter. I have talked to people that went through the PSD program and did a sleep study at the campus.

Things might have changed, it's been a few months, but a recruiter should know. If you are still having problems this weekend I will ask someone there; Ill be there.

She's wrong. If they determine you need the test. They will give ya the test. Its done at the motel you stay at. 150 for just test. 1900 all.together if you need the machine. Its much cheaper at prime then another doctor.

    Comes out of your paycheck.

Bmi plays a factor. So does necksize ands past health history.

Call and get a different recruiter.

I called again, and spoke to Julie this time, and she says as far as she knows, that is how it works, and how it has worked. So I'll take her word for it. Kind of want to question my Recruiters intelligence on this one. ;) :biggrin_25522:

Great! Thank you, and some interesting information. I just heard that we have started allowing students to do a sleep study with sleep pointe in Missouri if the doctor determines they need it. So you could do it there.

    lol. great timing...

    Mudrunner Thanks this.

:biggrin_25523: She could be new to prime recruiter team. I have heard a lot of names on here but not her. Always ask someone else if you don't have satisfactory results. She also may have been having a bad day witch is not a good thing but it happens. Read:biggrin_25522: this website and then you have try and deside what is just whinning and what is fact.

Not everybody going to Prime has health insurance nor can they stroke a $2,000 check to pay for a sleep study and CPAP. To answer one of your questions, they will deduct regular payments from your future checks. I'm lucky in that I have health ins. and my sleep study, CPAP and doctor's costs were in neighborhood of $4,000. Prime does the same test and type of machine for ½ the street price.

If the BMI is above 35 then one is is considered Morbidly Obese. If that's your case, then the sleep study should be the least of your concerns. You need to make sure your blood pressure is within normal limits or under control with a Rx PRIOR to showing up at Prime or any other Trans Co.

I appreciate yours and everyones responses. Greatly appreciated. Glad to have a little ease of mind on this. $150 is a little easier than $2,500+ for just the test. :biggrin_25523:

Yep. Good blood pressure. Under Prime/DOT Maximums. I'm just a big all over dude. Current job requires much lifting and moving and working, so that's kept me going. Just come from a bigger size family.

(Still might consider a Doctor Visit though just in case)
