I am taking a CDL course on Saturday mornings through my employer(in Ohio) using a pintle hook trailer. I have learned the basics, but need practice on my parallel parking and dock pull in. I drive for about an hour during the class each week, but have no ready access to a truck and pintle hook trailer during the week to practice. Is it possible and legal, for a driver or company to rent a truck and trailer to me for a reasonable fee, so I can practice my parking in some open area? I have my temporary permit. I've looked at several classifieds, but found nothing like that. If I can rent from somebody, where would I look? I tried attaching a small trailer to my own vehicle but it didn't really simulate the driving too well. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would say not legal for you to rent. Most rental companies will only rent to licensed drivers for the vehicle involved.

Since you are employed, I would suggest saving your money and attending a driving school.

You can get good training pushing a grocery cart backwards until you save the money.
