In most of Texas, you will go to Lancaster because Houston doesn't do orientation. I'm going to Laredo because I live in San Antonio. (I have no idea what happens with students close to the El Paso terminal.) It's not random and even though you may have been told it's unknown, it is actually based on proximity to your home town and your recruiter may have mentioned it.

Thanks for the updates Gold_Miner and nice to hear from you again. What was the physical like? By background I'm assuming you're talking about criminal? Did you need to provide any references? Sorry for the questions but since you're there and I'm heading there on the 14th of this month I thought you would be able to answer all of the questions thrown at you. :biggrin_25514:

Just bring what is on the list they email you?

It's because you live in Michigan. If you need a CDL test, you would take the road test in Michigan.

I dont need a road test I have my CDL A, which is causing me some confusion as to whether I will spend the third week in TN just doing the road stuff there, or if I will go back to gary to do the road portion even though I have my License already..either way once im done the next week is over in New Boston for orientation, then hopefully quit out with the trainer..Once I go on the 19th its going to be a race against time..I will not have much time to waste before I need to start bringing in money..or my family will be licving in a dark cold house..LoL

Yeah, that I can't help you with. I never asked Kris that question. My guess, however, is that you would do the third week road training to get "indoctrinated" into The Swift Way, just not get tested by the state. But where...well, dunno.

LoL..either way it doesnt really matter "where" i do it..Gary would be cool, cause its close enough to home I might be able to have my wife pick me up when itsover..but really doesnt matter either way..Im just hoping they have a trainer ready to go after orientation..I cant aford to drive to new boston for orientation, then come home, then have to drive back to meet the trainer..if they dont have one ready, maybe they can work it out to pick me up here in town or something..Im just having a anxiety attack over money right now..LoL

The physical was tough, but I got my 2 year card. I just provided documentation that my sleep apnea was under control from the VA doctor. I was worried about blood pressure but I passed fine. The eye exam was hard for people with glasses. I passed with 20/20 vision. They test for sugar in your pee and mine had some, so they checked me for diabetes and I passed.

Look me up when you get here.
