Hey there I assume your a company driver
i tried everything known to me get it disconnected on a much older freightliner.
I tried disconnecting it pulling fuses I even tried putting a rock on the acc pedal. nothing worked youl need someone to hook up to the computer and disable it.
Such as life just tell your company you want a good nights sleep if they say your sol say no your sol and cya.
Im looking for a carrier that has apus or is in the midst of installing them no more games when it comes to idling or this opti idl sht.
Take a stand for your self just say No to i will tolerate this any longer. -
I would just set the thermostat (in the summer) as low as it would go, and the truck would high idle all night. Not the greatest alternative, but it would stop it from atarting and stopping.

Try this ,
1.put truck at fast idle and if your truck has a 5 (or what ever) minute shut down timer, at about 1 minute before truck shuts down (check engine light may start flashing) tap on accererator peddle (then check engine light should go off).
or
2. set trailer brakes ONLY... leave "yellow" button in. Will only be able to slow idle.
Let me know what works,

When you find the secret hack share it with us theres thousands of drivers who wanna know IT.
It really sucks when you wake up in the morning with almost all your clothes off not rembering you took them off , ie it was so hot while you slept you took them off unconciously. -
It worked for about 45min

I used the trailer brake option when I had Opt/Idle. It always worked for me. Only way I could figure around the BS. -
If it works by a thermostat, couldn't you find the sensor. Then place a cold/hot object on it to fool it?

Wow, and to think I was actually looking for a truck with OPT/Idle. Glad I didn't find one.

Opt/Idle is great...so long as you don't drive for a company that includes instructional software to shut the #### thing off after idling for so long a period.
I darn near got fired one time for calling a dispatcher at home @ 2 am and asking him to turn the A/C off cuz the **** bill was getting too high. Personally, I feel my employers should be as accountable as they expect me to be. And availiable during MY normal business hours.
