I have an 03 6NZ that has a bad vibration in it. Put the Pittsburgh power dampener and balancer on the front of it and hasn't changed anything. ECM throws random codes through the check engine light but they are never stored in the ECM when I got to a CAT dealer to get it checked. Cyclinder cut out tests say injectors are working like normal. I was wondering if possible ECM malfunctioning and throwing timing off to cause shake?

What about motor mounts?
Fuel lines bad? -
I've had several bad injectors pass the cutout test, we had to play around cutting them out individually to see which one made the least difference in how the engine felt.
I forget how to do it but you can take a "snapshot" of what's going on with the engine/ecm when it's acting up by using the cruise control switches. Cat can look at that later to see what was going on. -
They can hook the laptop up, hop in the passenger seat and you can go for a ride down the highway to see if it will happen again under normal driving conditions..

Motor mounts are good, Put new fuel lines on it 6 months ago, check for air in the fuel system- none. I took a couple snapshots too and when they were looked up at CAT they were dated for 1996. A little weird cause the motor is an 03. Codes are off the wal, like idle shutdown override, sensor calibration. Just weird codes. The motor had the shake when i got it 4 yrs ago and had it overhauled 200,000 miles ago and its still there. Sometimes its smooth and other times it feels like the wheels are gonna fly off. Worse shake the harder you step on the accelerator pedal.

Anyone backed the clutch off yet?

Try a different PCM?

DDS could very well have hit the nail on the head.
Spicer had some bad drive discs out there and this could very well be the problem -
I get an on and off vibration out of my MSX during the winter months. I've had it through my inframe so injectors are out. It will change when I drain off my primary ( water separator ) so I think it has to be fuel related.
The confusing part is that it will coincide with my speedometer fluctuating up and down by a few mph.
I plan on trying an Air-dog or FASS.
If you figure it out please update us..
