I have a phone interview set up for Monday. I have read through most of the posts here but what little info is here seems to be a few years old. Well, hopefully no news (posts) is good.

I put in for a regional driver. I was told I would be home weekly and average 2100 miles a week. Is this accurate?

How long is orientation? They say they pay for meals, lodging, transportation, etc. Do you reimburse this back to them or do they actually pay for it?

How about the trucks? Going down the road they look like they are nice, clean and well maintained but reading the (old) posts here the trucks seem to have 400-500k miles on them. They are still in good shape? Do you know what kind of trucks they run out of Grand Prairie, TX?

I hate the northeast. Do they run much north/northeast? I was told no NYC! Yea! Did I tell you that I hate the northeast?

I am currently with a training company making .28 a mile and they nickle and dime me to death. Out of 35 that was in our school class in May, I am one out of about 5 left and everyone thats left is looking to leave. I just cant make it on the money that Im making here.

    Thanks...

Are you set on pulling a Van?

Averitt runs Volvos, auto transmissions, (e logs I think). I've talked to a few on the road, all were content, most said miles and money could be better but they were there for hometime, 2 of them were National Guard and needed to be home ontime for drill weekends and they did a good job makeing sure they were home ontime.
