If your driving for a company for .22/mile you either have a bad record and need to put some time in to prove that you can drive, you are a new driver and again need to put some time in a truck to show you are not a wing-nut or Evil Kneivel or you are just plain stupid.

There are some compaines that will pay you .03 cpm extra for taking HHG, Which probably evens out with practical milage pay in the long run.

Maybe some of you misunderstood me.I dont work for Baldwin,I had a friend in Amarillo call me and tell me they're pay rate.I was shocked that they could even hire a single driver but as one guy here posted, maybe people are that desperate to get a job.All I want out of all this misleading mileage scam's is to get paid for what I do!If I was paid hub miles, that would be great.Like I said about the hub miles is that I would'nt expect a company to pay me miles for personal trips. What I think all drivers deserve is to be paid for what they do,period. If a man drives 1000 miles he should be paid for driving 1000 miles,it's very simple.

Its funny. They were paying me Rand Mcnally where I worked. They were still shaving another 5 to 10 % off of that. I knew because I have the same information on my smart phone. After I posted said infraction on here and calling them up and severely consulting them about it. All of the sudden they starting putting the correct numbers on my trips. Thanks Forum.

Mgfg is right.....next time you book a flight tell the airline you are paying your ticket based on HHG and see what they tell you...or the next time you stop to gas your car tell the station you will only pay 90% of what the pump says ( cause they are all out by about 10% ) and see what they say.....so why are drivers falling over themselves for these jobs.

Want to hear from a company owner's perspective? I have only 6 trucks running,so I drive myself regularly. 1 of the runs we do I personally have run many times. When I run it I always use the route I tell my drivers to use, and am usually in the 490-495 mile range. When my drivers were paid on the hub, they would never have less than 500. Had one guy whoo ran the route for 1 1/2 years always around 510 ??@@@#
All of a sudden his miles went to 520- 530. When I asked him what the deal was, he admitted he was taking a little sidetrip to see sumbody. No mention who it was. But he was quite happy to let me pay him to go see miss honeypot or whoever it was.

That in itself is why companies use a mileage routing system. Is it always fair? No !
But it keeps drivers tighter on their routes when they know that's all they're getting paid for. If you don't like the pay scale than here's a simple solution---LEAVE AND GO TO SOMEONE WHO PAYS HUBMILES----- If you don't do that then #### and quit crying.

    Absolutely correct Dino1968!

If you're not happy fix your problem(s) and if you can't fix them then you can do one of two things. You either suck it up and shut your pie hole and take it like a man OR you take your toys and go play in another sand box!

There is no scam. Either a company is outright stealing from you, or they are not. If they pay you for the same number of miles that they bill their customers, and you agreed to that per mile rate, you have no need to complain. Now, if they are billing customers at some higher mileage, that's stealing. And needs to be reported and prosecuted as such. But good luck proving it. Most companies are real good at keeping drivers in the dark as to how and what they bill a load at.

Pretty much all the respectable companies are now paying practical miles, which is fair. No reason to drive for a company that pays HHG these days.
