Went to Miller in Ft.Worth to pick up beer. Some dummy told me I cannot put the Empty in the spot. Told him I was told to put it there. His next response "Move the f....in trailer. I said not with you talking to me like that move it yourself.. Student and I jumped in the truck and left the trailer there.. #@#@!

Then got our preloaded trailer. Drive 150 miles just forgot about getting load scaled... Oh no 780 pounds over on the tandems with no way to fix it...

Hmm 2 far to go back to shipper and get abused so ran with it..Made it through Texas,Oklahoma....Hit Colorado and hit Ice fog and ice builds up on antennas banging against side of truck...

What a day to break in a new student.......... The way they loaded this trailer it's a wonder they can even make any beer. Now we gotta drink 780 pounds of beer

Is your tandem all the way back already?

Mystic: Before passing judgment on Jane Lew based on the porn they carry, I suggest you try the restaurant across the street. That's the biggest reason I stopped there when I was OTR. Second biggest reason was the chrome shop area. All in all, pretty reasonably priced. I picked up my mud flap tail light assemblies there for $99 with lights and wiring included.

Back in the 90's, there was a waitress there I called "skunk lady", to myself of course. :) She had a black beehive hairdoo with a white stripe down the middle. I always thought I stepped into the twilight zone every time I stopped there.

Last time I stopped the restauraunt was alot nicer. But the parking lot got worse. There use to be just a dozen trucks there. Now it's like the rest and you can't find a spot at night time.

How do you forget to scale?? Especially when you know you're heavy. Once you run 300-400 miles, you should burn off enough fuel to squeek by. I'd take the scenic route until then.

Houston is more like a drop yard, small bathroom, no shower, there is a shop. There is a tv lounge with one or two scan stations. Find a spot in the back if you'll be there over night.

I'm presuming by this statement you are over axle, not over gross. Additionally, when most of us say "tandems," we mean the trailer axle, not the drives. If you are 780# over on your trailer with the tandems slid all the way to the front, all you have to do is move your tandem back about a foot.

If you are over axle on your drives and have some room on your trailer axle to work with, it's still possible to move the weight, just have to be very careful in doing it.

If you were allowed to leave the plant over gross, something went haywire at the guard shack. They aren't supposed to let trucks roll out over gross, even though they refuse to give you axle weights. Hated that Miller plant because of that.

It's OK, Colorado allows 36,000 pounds on tandem axles.

yup.....that's why I decided to run with it.

    Injun i always say
    steers
    drives
    tandems

so when I say over on tandems that means over the 34,000

the issue is the way they loaded the trailer.you can move the tandems back but it would not make a difference .the pallets stop a foot in front of the tandems.there is nothing in the first 7 feet of trailer. so your stuck with what u got.

We only had to worry about texas and oklahome and I knew scales where closed.the only choice would have been go back to shipper and we where too far away..My fault was talking to new student and forgot a
    bout scaling.

I knew we would have a issue when I saw how it was loaded..
