    Good Morning,

My husband has been driving for 7-8 years now, but mostly local. He wants to make more money and we are looking at some OTR companies. He worked for Cypress Truck Lines out of J-ville FL a few years ago, and that was not a good experience so he went back to driving locally. He has a clean MVR and has hauled flatbed, dry van, auto, heavy equipment.

Is it realistic to make $1k a week and be home on weekends? Right now he is working for a local company for anywhere from 12-18 hours a day for $400-600 a week!

If anyone can offer any advice and some good companies for us to look at, it would be much appreciated!

    Is it possible>YES

    Is it probable>NO

Tell him to go to the major LTL carriers and apply there. That's his best chance although he may be working weekends due to his low seniority. The plus will be union benefits and retirement.

Sounds like that local company is only paying a percentage or is your husband getting paid by the mile?I'm waiting for a call from a local company that pays hourly at $16.25.I bet if hubby looks hard enough he can find a much better local company .

Clearly states that his OTR was with Cypress, nowhere does it say he drove locally for Cypress. Their location is stated as Georgia.

I'm not getting in to a pissing match, look at their location and it states Bonair, Ga. It's as simple as reading it, now if that's not where they live so be it, but that's the public info for everyone to see.

    tdcanterbury67 Thanks this.
