On Thursday, Pilot Flying J announced its completed purchase of seven Bosselman travel centers in the Midwest.

The centers opened for business on Jan. 5 under the Pilot name. The plans for purchasing the centers were originally announced in November, and Pilot Flying J made the purchase to achieve a bigger presence in the Midwest.

The newly acquired centers are located in:
    -Altoona, Iowa
    -Colby, Kan.
    -Salina, Kan.
    -Big Springs, Neb.
    -Wood River, Neb.
    -Elm Creek, Neb.
    -Rapid City, S.D.

At these new locations, Pilot Flying J plans to increase fast food options, add DEF at pumps, enhance and remodel showers and restrooms and implement its loyalty program.

"These seven stops significantly enhance our network by shrinking the distance our customers travel to receive service in the Upper Midwest," said Pilot Flying J President and CEO Jimmy Haslam in a press release.

In addition to the acquired travel centers, Pilot Flying J also agreed to expand Bosselman's Boss Truck Shops repair facilities to 20 additional Pilot Flying J locations in the U.S.

Bosselman will continue to maintain its travel center in Grand Island, Neb., and will place a heavier emphasis on its truck repair shops and full service restaurants.

Yeah right. Bosselman's locations were already a PeeLOT franchise - and a welcome change from the standard, lousy PeeLOT experience.

Increase fast food options? Bosselman's always had a restaurant - this means what? MORE Subway?

Remodel showers? Bosselman's already had a better shower than PeeLOT ever had. That means they're going to the ol' PeeLOT crud-infested shower.

    Yeah, great news. :biggrin_25510:

    Shouldn't that be:

"to receive more waiting in line time, and rude service to our customers!"?:biggrin_25510:

You can't get two truck drivers to agree on the price of a free cup of coffee so how would you ever get them to agree to whether it's Wendys, McRonalds, Arbys or Subway.

How about a proper sit down restaurant where you can get a "fresh" salad.

    jimvrg Thanks this.

Because that's what the consumer wants. If people weren't lined up for a "Supersized Whopper Mc Horsey Burger" these places wouldn't be on every street corner and in every fuel stop! No different than 7/11 and convenience stores. They would close if people went to their grocery store.
