Even tho the company got fined $500,000.00 by the DOT and they lost their I PASS and PREPASS, they tell all their drivers "NOTHING HAS CHANGED. WE JUST HAVE TO BE MORE DISCREET!" If you are one of the more unfortunate drivers who get caught, they will swear they have warned you over and over again and terminate you. :biggrin_25510:
If you have truck exspenses, you have to pay them out of "YOUR POCKET!" and get reimbursed "ONLY IF THEY MATCH YOUR LOG". If you get a advance from the Company, unless you spent "AT LEAST 75%" of that advance on the truck, you will be charged a $25.00 fee for a $50.00 Advance!! :biggrin_25513:
The Company only pays .34 cents @ mile and most of the time you are usally shorted "AT LEAST" 30% of the miles you actually drive! :biggrin_25524:
If this is the type of Company and people you like dealing with ROCK LEASING is the company for you but, if you are smart and wise and value your CSA score, you will avoid this company at all cost! :biggrin_25521:

Im sorry but company advances should be used for the truck. Why in the trucking world do drivers think they should get an advance, for personal use, I mean if you worked in an office you wouldnt use company money for personal uses, nor would most companies outside of trucking even "advance" you money:biggrin_25513:

Cash advances should be used for scales, fluids, washouts etc. etc. not for personal payday loans:biggrin_25513:

You go HOME every night.....you sleep in your own bed....shower in your own shower....eat your own meals.....DRIVERS DO NOT! They have more and more exspenses and, espically if you work for Rock Leasing, your check barely pay the bills so you really have no money to take away from the home and have to use advances to survive on the road. If you tried get your utt off of that chair and out on the road, you would realize what a driver goes thru and I would be willing to bet, you would not survive. Your ignorance of that statement you made says it all!:biggrin_25523:

    Um I am driver:biggrin_25526:
But I do sleep in my own bed....shower at home....and eat my own meals about 1 or 2 times a week, don't be mad because I have the mental fortitude to figure which freight lanes profited the most while allowing me to get by the house more:biggrin_2558:

If your not making enough to pay the bills at home and survive on the road; then that shows a lack of intelligence on your part to keep working for them:biggrin_2559:

You can call me ignorant all you want:biggrin_2559:
I'm not the one having to live on cash advances:biggrin_25522:

I don't work for them any longer....I couldn't afford to.
They are getting richer while all their drivers are going broke!

I'm not saying they are or are not getting rich while ripping or not ripping off drivers, but how would you know how much money they are making?

The only thing I am guessing that you see are the $500-$600 receipts that the company is paying for once a day. You really don't think that stuff is free, do you?

Have you ever tried a credit card? Not only would it not be an issue anymore with your company (well, old company), but you could build your credit at the same time. After all, your advances are coming from your check. You use that money and pay your credit card bill off every month. It'd be a good way to work towards building some sort of credit so you can buy your own truck.

My last 30 years of driving and I figured out that "playing" on the road cost me way too much cash any money I took as an advance was to put back in my pocket what I REMOVED to pay the COMPANY costs ie; scales, oil, light bulbs, lumper if I had to or whatever else that required me to pay for them. And I ALWAYS got MY money back from them!

When I left home I had $100 in my pocket to cover everything I needed til the next pay check.

That did go up my last year as it got expensive eating! But when I left home I always had 2 days of eats in my cool bag that cut down on paying stupid costs. When lucky enough to have a built in refrigerator it was stocked up at home or at a store when needed and that came off of a debit card or cash out of my pocket.

I NEVER took a "payroll" advance! Well except for the first one when I hired on to CXI in 1992! It's about as stupid as walking into a payday loan outfit! I got a regular paycheck each week deposited directly into my new bank account with their bank to keep it very simple and believe it or not I still bank with them! I had a debit card to use if I needed to get some cash to get what I needed.

You do not need a pocket full of cash to live on for a week. It's insane to have more than $150 in your wallet as you do not need to impress anyone or a criminal waiting to see an idiot flash a wad that makes his work day a success! Unless that company you drive for puts cash in your hand to buy whats needed to run the truck and not a credit card.

Over the years I have watched drivers scream about "wheres my pay check" thinking that advancing their "pay" because it IS their pay was the way to go then not get a check because tey did not keep up with what they advanced and then gave payroll a fit because again they were an idiot! Yeah keeping written records for some was way past their intellrgance level. Playing and parting every night on that party row throwing money at the coin operated baby dolls and whatever "smoke" was avaliable was the "Billy Big Rigger" way to go!

Then the drivers that just had to eat those 3 squares a day! Yeah, I can't even begin to recall those over $10 a meal these people would shovel down a day! I had one company driver that would want to run with me and he could not understand why I didn't want to run with him until I told him. DUDE! You eat way to much, you weigh maybe 3oo+ pounds and stop at least 3 times just to feed!

I need to run! I can live on 2 meals a day with a snack in the AM, not 3 eggs, a pound of grease and whatever it is you come out of the store with to feast on between meals! I would rather MAKE money by running and enjoying that paycheck and not have to wonder where my money went after sitting at the diner table all day long! The pour kid died about 2003 . A massive heart attack at 37. He ate himself to death.

On payday I had money to put in the bank for my toys I liked and for when I got somewhere that had a venue I wanted to do like a 5 star restaurant, play, sports game or whatever!

If that's how the company pays then I guess that's what you have to do but if they have a direct deposit use it and live within your means while on the road. it's NOT hard to do!

As to that Rock barely pays... OK why are you there? You knew what the pay was before you walked in that front door. After a few weeks and you see that they shave miles then I would be shaving their arse with a hearty "I quit" and go somewhere else. To stay at a BFI because you "need the money" when you aren't getting any is about as stupid as leasing and getting screwed that way! Sorry, but I ain't holding any sing alongs and holding hands and giving feel good hugs! If you sign a contract for less than $.35 CPM and they continue to route "short miles" and still lose miles That's your fault. Learn from it but stop taking advanced like it's free money.

Rock leasing does not have direct deposit or you might have a very good idea there....The fact is, if you happen to be on the road on Friday you have to either wait until you get in and pick up your check or you can ask them to mail it. It will usally get there by the following Tuesday or Wednsday. The way they do business, they almost force you to have to get a advance and they wont do Direct deposit because then there would be a paper trail of what's really happening to all of your money and they wouldn't like that at all! :biggrin_25513:It doesn't matter at this point as I am out of there and was just trying to help fellow truckers not to make the same mistake I have done. :biggrin_2552:

Go back to your guessing game and get off the computer and get back to work trying to sucker more drivers to go to work for you.
Obviously you work for the company and FYI, yes, I have seen some of the broker sheets and when you are collecting over $2.00 @ mile, paying the driver .34@ mile, and screwing him out of a 3rd of that, plus fuel, and yeah, don't forget the wear and tear on that 2004 piece mof $#@!%^ you call a truck, Yeah, I'd say you were making money. The thing is however, as long as there are boards like this where drivers can warn each other of the hazards ahead, you bottom feeders will all be out of Business without drivers. Now get back to work...while you still have a Job!!
