It's fitting a bulldog was leaking uria. Maybe it just wanted to mark its territory.

I agree. The cost of tires, oil change, etc have increased. The rate should be adjusted accordingly, not just FSC.

I know you put them in their place then.:biggrin_25525:. I haven't really ran into problems but I see that running a truck on your own can be beneficial if you have a sound business plan.

I wish more people in this Great Country would read his books and listen to his radio show.

I first read his book about 5 or so years ago. It totally changed the way I handle our money. Life and business is 100% easier and simpler when you don't have debt sitting on your shoulders.

No kidding... It's almost impossible to fail if you follow his plan. Plus, it's not all that hard once you get started. The first time I read one of his books I felt like I real fool because of the way I handled my finances. I've listened to his audio books so many times that I can #### near recite them.

I started listening to him when I first started driving then I started practicing what he preached. Haven't listened to the show in years. It got to the point where I knew what he was going to tell a caller before he even said it. To this day I can tune it in and do the same thing lol. But back when I was digging myself out of a hole it served as a great inspiration. The best part was on fridays when callers would call in because they had paid off all their debts and were debt free. It was amazing how much debt some people had managed to pay off. Everything he teaches is just common sense really. But a lot of people just cant let go of the toys and eating out every night, they want it all, and they want it now. That's why I tell guys posting in here that want to get a truck. Make 3 to 5 years of sacrifice, pay cash in full, and set yourself so far ahead in the game. It sounds like a long time but it really isn't. And once that snowball starts rolling and you can see progress.... That's focused intensity right there.

I hear ya there, I've listened to a couple of them myself.

Ya, I agree it's usually the same old thing. I still listen to it on A.M. if I'm in town.

What he preaches really isn't new technology. Like Dave says, "I'm not telling you anything different than what your grandparents would tell you to do".

The part in blue is SOOOO true.

It's a big step to get started. Almost as big as buying a house. Same perspective. You have to put money into an back for a house to keep it livable. U have to put money into an put back to keep your business running. The numbers is the name of the game. Do the math before you buy. That was the best advice I ever got. Go buy a brand new truck with 2,500 a month payments plus the other things to keep it legal. Plus money for home isn't the way to start out. Go big an go under. Start with numbers that work for you life style. I wanted a nice big W-9 for 165,000 but when it was all said an done I ended up with an 02 Freightliner century for 12,900. Giving some extra time underneath keeping it rolling but I have 495 a month payment. Leaves me an extra 2,000 to keep into my truck and savings. Alot of work but it pays off.

Dave Ramsey is a person who is making millions off people by telling them nothing that they have not been told before.

Compounding interest is NOT your friend. Pay off your debt and live on cash. Credit cards are evil. If you must use them, pay them off before the months end.
