TN trooper severely injured by truck

That's definately not a picture of him?? Totally different noses. THP uniforms are tan/olive green. I wonder who that is? Maybe it's the one that started the group. It doesn't look like any of the previous pictures.

They say he is showing some improvement. He's tough is all I can say.

Talking to many team drivers over the years has made it very clear to me that they do not get enough sleep. Recently a tow truck driver told me the majority of accidents he responds to are team operations.

The problem I see is the night driver doesn't get enough rest during the day, with the truck running and stopping, in order to be well rested for the following nights drive. Very dangerous operation!

 

well i dont mean this ugly....but my husband and i ran team for 20 years and neither one of us ran over anybody..... and we ran hard....always....

 

Yep, the short stint I teamed, I was never tired. But we ran 5/5.

Now run meat or produce long haul solo. That's a different story. I used every trick in the book to stay awake. But I knew when was when to grab some shut eye.

 

never did the 5 and 5....and were dog tired a lot of times making pu's (produce)....but like you said, knew when to rest...

 

I never said it couldnt be done safely, but the risks are obvous, especially for new drivers being trained at the mega carriers.

 

I can't sleep when the truck is moving. when I trained with a mentor it was terrible for me. My mentor told me to never go teams or I would die! and I think he was right
