TransAm doesn't really mess with their company drivers unless you are screwing up(late loads, not keeping your DM informed, etc).

I do have to say though, the excessive pressure on the leasing program in training is ridiculous. There is a lot to learn when you start out driving, and learning how to run a business on top of that is normally what breaks people.

Also, they DO lie saying that there are not any company trucks available, but I got mine the night I tested out. You may have to wait a few days, but it's not that bad.

So as i am reading through this, i get the drift that they will pressure me into leasing, or they will try anyways and to the point of saying they dont have a truck for me. I get the rest of it, newbies have to take whatever they get and run with it, in order to get good solid routes consitantly. The whole being forsed to lease idea doesnt settle to well with me, might have to take another route...

From what I understand several companies push the lease on you just because they make so much money off of it. Just say no and hold your ground.

Here is what they are good at.

After you finish training, if you don't lease, they say they have no truck for you.

They send you home to wait for an available truck.

After waiting for weeks on end, you'll finally agree to lease, just to get a truck.

This has happened numerous times to alot of members here.

    YMMV.............

I hear what you're saying, but say you refuse that load to Plainview and your DM gets upset about it? What do you do when he retaliates by making you sit for 2 days waiting on a load? Or when he starts giving you the 200 mile loads with 6 hour load / unload times?
