Thanks for the data. I am thinking about taking a 'working vacation' in the George West area with a stack of resumes in hand. Duron

I just drove to Victoria yesterday from San Antonio, and did not see one sign about hiring drivers. I just got out of school, and want to get in on these jobs, but I can't find any of them. Guess I will try the job fair next week.

Anybody working on a frac crew down there. I've been looking into all the different companies and it seems like all of them are hiring. Anybody know who the best is or who to stay away from.

Check Craigslist as they have numerous positions in Odessa area.

I have an interview tomorrow with Shale, who I found on the internet. I drove to Victoria with the hopes of one of the jobs from workintexas.com, but they weren't really even trucking jobs. They were listed that way on the site, and they only had address to apply to, so I drove over there. I'm sure there are lots of jobs, its just hard to find one with no experience. I applied with some of the companys i've heard will hire rookies; Thomas, Nabors, Sanjel, but I am getting close to 40 days outta school and don't want to have to take a refresher course if I go to OTR. Need to make up my mind before the week is over. I checked Odessa, and am still thinking about driving out there as well.

Was also wondering if anyone has heard about United Texas Trucking. I thought I saw a post on here that they were bad to work for, but I can't find it anymore.

C''mon over! I just got to Midland/Odessa last night, applied at Nabors today, and within an hour had a call for an interview for tomorrow. This is from someone, who like yourself, has no experience, and just got my CDL a few weeks ago.

    fin77 and windsmith Thank this.

Fin from what I've seenon here and know from experience you'll have no trouble finding a job in west Texas. For some reason the insurance requirment in west Texas aren't as tough as everywhere else. I got my first oilfield job in west Texas with key. I didn't even have a cdl at the time and had two speeding tickets and a three year old dwi and they hired me.

Thanks guys, if I don't land the job at interview, I think I will drive out to Odessa. I have applied with Nabors, but it was thru a fax, still hoping to hear back though.
