    Heard that on the police scanner. She must had been doing some real late grilling.

    There has to be more to the story then just the doughnut. They are charging him with strongarm robbery. I don't know what the critera is in that State for that charge, but I assume he had to make a threat, or take some kind of action for that kind of upgrade. Plus the article mentions a previous history and that's why the prosecutor is not backing down from the charge.

    Yeah, this guy has a previous history of shoplifting. (Usually 3rd time is a felony). Strong-Arm typically means he used some type of force in the incident.

    While on the surface, the maximum sentence seems harsh. However, he probably won't get it, and probably deserves it!

    He pushed an employee as he was running from the store. That technically fits the definition of strong are robbery.
