Oh ok, I totally glossed over the 53' part. I didn't know LA was as ignorant as CA. I have a new 50' flat and on the order sheet it says "not California legal" which is music to my ears. I guess it should also say "not CA,LA or FL legal" lol!

FL is actually 41' from kingpin to center of the rear axle GROUP, so you should be OK jfaulk. For hose that are over the kingpin distance, you can buy a yearly $20 permit.

So what Im getting from all of this is that she just made up a rule on the fly which is what I was thinking. Her supervisor backed her up as I asked for one and he told me the same BS which was "Your axles were together when you crossed the scale and you cant move them now" Even though thats the solution to the problem. They are whack

Dont Know anything about it. I would go online and google it. Its probably horse ####. You must remember the law of the land is the little green book federal regs books. It supercides all state laws. If the still thru crap go outside make a call to US Marshalls. They have juristiction over all law/commerical enforcement . They do 3 things tell u leave . Arrest scale master, close scale. My friends runs a RGN hes called the Marshalls several times. I was told by and older experince driver who told me to learn and highlight key points in that little green book of fed rules . Most so called scale masters dont know whats in the green book. But, make up BS all the time. If we dont call there BS by showing highlighted portions in green book refering to what they are saying a driver did. Nothing will ever change. My advice go thru when scale is closed. " The path of less resistance is the best."
