Successful professionals understand that attention to detail is key.
You and I are both correct. There ARE US Marshals, but no US Marshalls.
Will postpone the DRINK until the start of my next 34 reset.Leftlane101 Thanks this. -

Be aware that she "rotates" from scale to scale. She has a "special thing" for tankers. You will be pulled in and scaled at a full stop when empty... even on the weigh in motion scales. Hates dumpers too. Doubt if she ever takes that badge off.

Oh, GAWD!! The US Marshals deal, again. It's so hilarious. NO, the Marshals will not come to the scale and arrest a scalemaster. NO, the Marshals don't care how long you've been sitting at a receiver/shipper. NO, they really won't do anything you hear about on the C.B.
I know this for a fact because I was in a US Marshals office just yesterday. There was a pile of paperwork on the desk. This Marshal had just come in from a warrant sweep where the team was looking for sex offenders who had absconded. This marshal was trying to complete the paperwork to go home.
I'm in this Marshal's office a lot, and as a joke, I always ask if things get stupid when I'm in my truck, can I call the Marshals? "Will you come on out and go ahead and arrest the DOT cop for giving me a bogus ticket?" It's a running joke between us.
Oh, I should mention that I'm in this Marshal's office all the time, take this US Marshal to lunch regularly. And......this US Marshal is part owner of my truck.....It's my wife! She gets a huge, gigantic kick out reading truckers comments about calling the Marshals out to roadside inspections. Now, if you have information about a fugitive from justice? She'd be happy to talk to you, but you'd better go ahead and call 9-1-1 first to be safe.
How many times am I going to hear about calling the Marshals? My sides are hurting. The Marshal's service arresting a scale master.Mommas_money_maker, Onetruckpony, Hammer166 and 6 others Thank this. -
But... but... but... PADDLE! I know it's twue, 'cause I heard it on CB!
My apologies to John Fogerty for tossing him onto the trucker's short bus. His little tune was a perfect fit (with minor lyrical modification!)Giggles the Original Thanks this. -

"Well, I have a friend who was on a scale one time, and the scale master slapped him in the face and called him a dirty name. Well, he just went right on ahead and called the US Marshal's Service, who came out and pistol whipped the scale master, and gave the driver a candy bar. Before the Marshal left, he gave the driver a card and said that anytime any body held him up, didn't pay him detention, told him he couldn't park even though he was out of hours, or looked crossways at him, just call this number and the Deputy Marshal would just call in an air strike on the warehouse."
Seriously, the Marshals are going to drop what they are doing, whether it be breaking down a door to apprehend a fugitive, going to the last known addresses of missing sex offenders who've failed to register as required by law, or any thing else because you're having a problem with some other law enforcement official? 'FRAID NOT!
In all my wife's training, she says there was ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about DOT, shippers/receivers, scales, or anything like that. The ONLY thing she's EVER done involving the trucking industry was investigating a human trafficking case, which is bigger in this country than you might think. CHILDREN are regularly sold into slavery and the sex trade right here in this country. THAT'S the kind of thing that will warrant the attention of federal law enforcement agents, NOT Billy Joe Jim Jack's Long Haul Trucking and Logistics Solutions and DOT Officer B.S. Malarky having a dispute about axle weights on the scales.
Anytime somebody tells you that a Marshal came to their defense on the scales, you can be perfectly comfortable telling them that they are a LIAR.Hammer166, kebo072, Mommas_money_maker and 1 other person Thank this. -
