Yeah not really. I would do 4-6 trips a week there back in 01-03. Never worried about running out of hours as I'd at least get 8. I spent more nights sleeping there than in my apartment for sure. The only time it was quick was when I hauled for my buddy after I got my authority. He greased some palms and was always out by 2300 on a 2200 appointment.

Bigger trailer = more freight = more money
    !!!!

I don't understand why you wouldn't want that!?

Yes some calls are harder to get into but if there impossible just send a 5 ton body truck.

53' and 48' trailers are really the standard length now a days and most all companies want them to carry more and more weight for the same rate per trailers. Ya better get use to the 53' trailers because they are here for good unless your local government decides other wise. :biggrin_25514:

I do P&D with a 53 and sleeper truck. Only occasionally is it a real problem getting in or out of a place.

Places built in the late 1800s, burned down and rebuilt in 1906 ... compared to places built in the early 1700s ... the east coast is tighter and more congested than the west coast.

I used to haul Bio-Haz medical waste from doctors offices, hospitals and high rises all over Chicago, all while driving a 53' van with a daycab Columbia. I made between 28-40 stops a day as well. Took some time to get the hang of it but you should see me get into a parking spot with this 48' and long WB Star....I've been told more than once by drivers "#### good job" LOL
