Go in to printing company in Indiana, small place. I go inside ask where the want to load me (I dont see a dock) they said around back is dock. I take my cab over and 53footer around back bungy doors aginst trailer sides (real tight dock) get it wiggled in and walk back inside. Guy opens dock door and has a real strange look and askes if that is a semi trailer. "yea" gee we never had ine of them in here only load straight trucks had some guys come in trailer truck before but could not get in dock. If it was not for cab over I would not have fit like wise. Also went to a scrap yard in Crawfordsville In real old place had frameless dump and long hood tractor could not fit the set was too long. They said they told Jack Gray not to send them long trucks they will not fit. Never got any pay out of that one.
What is the worst place you..

If you pull out and clear them, then you can't make the swing to turn out of the docks at all. -
I've been to thousands of bad docks in 40 years... used to back thru an auto shop to get to a dock in the Bronx... alley docks in Detroit... old railroad docks almost everywhere.
Back in the 70's and 80's almost every business was in a downtown area and built for horse and buggies. You newbies have it made...Logan76 Thanks this. -

Worst place I have ever delivered to was a small outfit in Camden NJ called Wish Transport. You have to go through a maze of One Way Streets filled with enormous holes, some big enough to completely trap a Super Single (Which is what Conway runs). When you get to the dock (If you're optimistic enough to call it that) you have to angle the trailer over two curbs and back up, then jackknife it until your ferring is on the trailer, unhitch, drop the gear, rehook to give yourself more room to Push the trailer. When it's on the Dock, you can stand in front of the trailer, and touch the fence with one hand and the trailer with the other. I did that for 35$ stop pay, and no miles. It was enough to make me think about going back to Werner, luckily I didn't. -
