....if you've been running large wreckers why don't you stick with it?

I hope for your sake all the bills are paid, and that you have no debt. You are about to embark on an unprecedented nightmare. I doubt anything you've experienced up 'til now will come close to this.

Shadow 600.....PAM is a good starter(training) company. They are like any other company in that the first year, expect to make little to no money. They take out escrow, schooling and taxes and that does not leave much for you to live on. If you have insurance with them or any kind of child support,etc.....most of your checks will be close to $0. That is why it is important to make sure your family, if you have one, is well taken care of while you are out here. After the first year, you will see your take home increase some but it is still rough. Also, after you get your own truck, expect to be out at least 3 weeks before getting home. PAM says 3 weeks is the minimum! Put in for home time right after you come back from home time and remind your dispatcher....even if he says he knows....remind him. I really can not help you much with the trainer thing. My hubby went to the place in Asheboro as well and it was back in 2008 when the freight was so slow and the economy was going nowhere. He sat at home for about a month before they got him his own truck....this was after training. It has changed a bit now from what it was then. All I can say is do not rely on any driving job in the first year to take care of your family at home and allow you to eat as well. The first year seperates the men from the boys and the women from the girls......Good luck and I hope things work out for you.
