P/d makes me cringe just thinking about it. I can flop my fat arse into the cab and run one of our shortest halfway meets that takes 7 hours to do with virtually 0 paperwork and 0 thinking and make more money than our $23 an hour guys dealing with idiots all day at 11½ hours because they are required an hour lunch and another 30 minute lunch after the 10th hour. But hey, it's all about what you like not the money.

I'm glad you are enjoying your new company. Go easy on the Mtn Dew. That stuff is not good for you. I hope this company turns out to be a career rather than another job.

    Good luck to you.

    Monday:

did the South Hill, VA run, my trainer got in an accident on his way up there, a ####### asian guy that didnt speak a word of english was pulling a Uhaul car trailer with a huge plastic thing (about 8'x8' square) and heavy and had NOTHING holding it down as he drove down I-85 we were headed north, this jackwagon was going south, thing fell off tumbled down I-85, a car tried to miss it, clipped another car, lost it, came slideing across the median and head first into the drives of my trainers truck, truck had to be towed back to the terminal (60 miles). The guy in the car was lucky a few feet further back he woulda been decapitated by the trailer, a few feet forward and he would have been T boned by a 70,000lb truck going 70mph. Anyway after we got back we worked 1.5 hrs on the dock and went home

    Tuesday:

Did the Burlington, NC run last night, got back at midnight and worked the dock till 6:45am.

    You get OT?

Why the long cross over of shifts ( if you know)? ie day shift coming in 0500 and you left 0815- is the dock that busy?

Do you work Sun to Thur or Monday to Friday? (since it is night shift)

Sammy cat, I think I read somewhere that he gets OT after 55 hours. Or I could just be making it up. Who knows.

Overtime whats that? Lol i havent had a job that paid overtime in years : (

Alex was kinda right, the city drivers get OT after 55 hrs road drivers do not

The over lap is because line haul drivers dont work the dock at the begining of thier shifts so we cant leave till there trailers are ready for them to take

My week starts monday night at 530PM and is over by 0900 saturday morning the lateest
