So you start out # .28cpm & only 2000 mi. per week?
Can you make really make a good pay check each week?

I have my Associate in Architectural Drafting & Design & there isn't any construction going on, I would love to go back to school but I don't have money, I could get a loan but I don't want to have a huge loan after I Graduate just in case the economy is still down. So I thought I get driving out of my system & make some money to go back to college for my Bachelor later.

I found this on a website

    Estimated Miles per week 2300-2500
& there is a check mark next to layover pay. Dose that mean they pay layover pay?

    Solo Driver Pay
    • 1 year = .34 per mile
    • 2 year = .35 per mile
    • 3 + year = .36 per mile

Just got done with orientation and this week got to talk to several drivers. What I gathered is there are miles. The ones that complain about sitting where just complaining non stop about stuff. However the guys that you can tell care and work are running and are very happy. Several have been at the company for years and said they would not want to leave. One guy was working on getting a new FM because of issues and he had already told him he was leaving but they where working on it because he does want to stay. He been driving for 13 years so he isn;t a newb blowing smoke.

Good to hear they have miles. I'm just wondering what cpm are they going to start you out at? Did you go to DS school?

Keep in touch with me & tell me how working there is & maybe I will too see you on the road.

Miles are here. Don't get hung up in terminals listening to what I call the people with the three "L's": late, lazy & liars. Eventually it leads to the ultimate "L": LETGO!

Go get your money, it can be found where the rubber meets the road.

    venne Thanks this.

USA Truck's Annual Stockholders Report lists average miles per driver at 1900 per week.

It means that the drivers who sit (at the terminals), don't get any miles. While the drivers who don't sit (at the terminals) don't seem to have as many problems with getting miles.
Time management means miles. Spend a lot of time sitting at a terminal, and your not managing your time very wisely.

Of course it does. Because it AVERAGED all drivers.
Those being the ones who are working, and the ones who are beaching at the terminal about not getting the miles.
