So i've applied at and was accepted by Swift. I am to start school as soon as I give a date to leave for Phoenix, AZ for their CDL school. Then tonight I talk to someone who drives for CR England, and he seemed very level headed and informative, and told me to give CR England a try.

I was thinking about applying for CR England for the mere fact that their school is in Mira Loma, CA (about 20-30 minutes from my home) as opposed to Swift's being in Phoenix, AZ.

So I come to this forum looking for some answers and information on CR England and I found nothing but dirt on England, much like Swift... Did any of these drivers who do nothing but dirt Swift and England actually attend these schools or what?

I know this forum is full of nothing but information, but it has honestly discouraged me from this industry quite a bit! I know I want to drive a truck, but what is someone like my self who has absolutely NO over the road training and no CDL to do?

If I was to choose one or the other, what would everyone here recomend? I'm kind of at a stand still now after reading the forum quite a bit.

    Someone please help!! :biggrin_25521:

If you're from Fontana, why didn't you go with Schneider?

Well, i'm actually in the High Desert, just like yourself.... I just planned on going with Swift and their terminal is in Fontana so I put my location there when I first signed up...

Does Schneider offer schooling and such like CRE and Swift?
What would be my chances of getting on with Schneider as opposed to CRE/Swift

I'm not too informed on all the different companies, thats why i'm here.

From what I've been reading here the past weeks, Schneider offers the best training as far as the big companies go. I've also heard that it's only like $900 if you sign a commitment, then free if you fulfill that commitment. :biggrin_2554:

Don't know if that's true or not though. I read their contract from their website and it says nothing about that. Schneider is who I think I'm going to sign on with. Of course, the way things are on this board, that will probably change in 5 minutes.

Haha, I couldnt agree more with that! I was certain I was going to Swift till I came here, I'm going to apply with Schneider here in a bit... I've not seen NEARLY as much bad things about Schneider as i've seen with CRE/Swift.

Why is this? Do they pay more, more professional? What exactly makes them better?

Well, in my opinion, and this is only opinion, CRE/Swift will hire anyone and pu them in the seat and send them down the road. From what I've seen out here on the road, their training program must be bare minimums, just enough to get your license and that's it.
I went thru Schneidr's training in Fontana almost 5 years ago, and I was and still am impressed with their training, and approach toward safety.
As for pay, I couldn't say on that point. I know SNI just kicked their pay up, I believe in Sept.

Awesome, i'm about to fill out their online application right now...
I didnt know they had one close like CRE...

What would you say my chances of getting on with Schenider would be opposed to the other two companies?

I think Schneider's payscale is actually at the bottom of industry standard. Supposedly they have a very low turn over though, so they must be doing something right.

Don't know. But I've heard that very few folks don't make it through their schooling. Not that it's easier, just a better school.

Cool, well I just completed the Schenider app. Hopefully they get back with me! Swift called less then 24 hours after I submitted, hopefully I have the same luck with Schenider.
