I double clutch. It's the way I was taught, and it works for me, so that's how I still do it.

    Clutch - noun

1.a hatch of eggs; the number of eggs produced or incubated at one time.

    2.a brood of chickens.

3.a number of similar individuals: a clutch of books; a whole clutch of dancers.

So used to floating everything, I really had to concentrate on double-clutching for my road test. Had more issues dc'ing, than floating.

For newbs it takes some concentration. First time ever in a truck (in school), I was thinking "no problems, 8/10 cars I owned were stick" - after a lap around the track, I was so embarrassed I started thinking "why in the he11 did I ever want to drive one of these things anyway?".

Nothing gains experience like getting experience.

Double-clutch when someone with a clipboard is watching - float everywhere else.

Both, it all depends on the situation. If I'm on the flats I float, if I'm pulling a big hill a lot of times I'll clutch.

I guess by double clutching they are talking about the two clutch disks in the clutch unit.
