well rzl you're welcome to work any camp job you can find in P.E.I too. in the meantime either move to alberta or suck it. I have no problem with getting a camp job to try it out, but if you want permanent work but you are not willing to relocate.... and yes I wasn't born in Alberta either.....nor Saskatchewan. where I come from you do what you have to do, and you move where you have to move to make a living. Alberta is where I hang my hat right now so its what I call home.

most frac Iron is 3 inch i have used 4 inch on 1 job and might have taken 3 men to a long joint, never even heard of 5 inch, would take a crane to rig in line pipe

Ok never heard of 5" but that don't mean there isn't. We use 2" and that can be heavy when in the mud. Hope things get better for ya.

Oh its fine, its heavy for sure, but there are lots of guys on the crew, anything more than a 10' long joint, 2 man lift is mechanical.. it just sucks while you're waiting in line with a big heavy chick-san or one of those valves is all.. Although I was on sand i think the guys wanted to.. heh... break me in a bit.. I got volunteered (as the FNG) to double check all the hammer unions along the line - whack whack - ting :D good times.

Most of the time, probably 90% is typical frac.. sit around waiting for something to happen.. we did 2 jobs over 15 hours and although there were 2 full rig ins, a rig out and moved to the 2nd lease we didn't even pump 1 cube.

We had to wait about 4 hours for the enermax guys to go get a ladder :D - so much ### time.

Probably right about it not being 5" I'm not sure.. its larger/heavier stuff than we used on cement.

Lol. I agree usually I'm the one to take the iron up to the floor so the 2x2 valve can get real heavy. Thank god for the winch line some days.

those big triple rigs out west of Rocky mountain house. I think I counted 65 stairs from the matting to the rig floor. send up everything you can on the line.

Absolutely, thats what its there for.. hook it all on the tugger and drag it up... actually carrying it is stupid anyways, its a one way trip to hernia town and you don't have 3 point contact.... slipping on the stairs and falling down them is one thing, slipping on the stairs, falling down and then having one of those heavy chunks of iron land on you would be a world of suck.

If its in front of you, its above you :D

Some of the bigger rigs have a cage, easy enough to get it to the catwalk and then toss it in the box, let them carry it - rig hands always seemed to want to help us.

Ours have a handle on them so can carry with one hand and still keep 3 point contact but do see your point.
