Ugly trucks in my opinion

I got a drive of a 379, not the most comfortable on the road and the interiors are a bit naff, all imitation red leather and cheap plastics and wood however I did drive a freightliner too and that was just awful, good god how people drive these, also someone had extended the gear lever, I had to reach up to it, it was as high as my head ! I think the looks of the pete had a certain appeal

 

In my book the only ugly truck is a 'crashed' truck. Hate to see wrecks.

Of course I see 'function' when I see planes, trains, trucks or ships. I never been to a custom truck show, but I've been to some custom Car, bike shows and seems some fugly looking stuff.

 

I'm with you! I don't like modified stuff, ok maybe a little but I've seen cars , bikes and trucks ruined by over modification!

 

I love the KW900 and the Pete 379, and were it my choice, that's all I'd want to have. However, coming in as a company driver as I will be, I know I won't have a choice. I'll just have to save up for when I can become an O/O...

 

You may love the look of the classic type truck but take advice from someone who's been there done that , if you are considering being an o/o you need to get an aero, the price of fuel is going one way: up! You'll need to have a streamlined truck and in case your weight limits go up as I believe they are planning over there you'll need a 13 speed box, fuel is getting more expensive all over the world and if this ####e in the middle east kicks off it's gonna shoot up over night. Just think just a few years ago our fuel was on a par with yours but now it's over $10 a gallon, you'll need to be prepared and you, your family and your well being is far more important than how a truck looks

 

I wish they'd make a more "aerodynamic" truck that isn't so fugly! It could still look like a truck and not have an excessive number of feminine curves or ugly headlights and grilles. Take the styles from the 1930s and 1940s and resurrect them! They looked good, unlike this modern crap. I think a lot of that is just bad taste in styling. You still have a large frontal surface area.

I've heard some people say the old trucks are more efficient because they don't have as much crap choking down the engine. IDK if that's true of not.

Still, with little experience, the armchair truck engineer says: "With modern technology, we ought to be able to make a truck that looks as good as the old rigs and is as efficient as that fugly stuff".

BTW, I want an old-looking interior too. Wood, metal, chrome. Don't give me any of that curvy plastic ####e for an interior! I don't want sockermom's crossover or minivan for styling!

Maybe one of these days, my truck will look that good.

 

I find the Freightliner Cascadia to be ugly. Century Class looked much better. Almost like a big sports car. Too bad they discontinued it.

Your probably meaning thread but this thread isint pointless because this is a forum about truck related points. So no thread is not really pointless unless its not including truck related points or is just in a wrong thread category.
