You get to a major company and that giving of gasoline stops. One drop will get you fired because just like everything else people took advantage of a good thing. Then when one guy doesn't get it he makes a call and asks how come so and so got some gallons and I can't. I have heard of smaller terminals taking care of the drivers and to tell you the truth I rerally don't see that much wrong with it. It's just when you're with a big company there's drivers that just have to stir the pot and ruin it for all.
Another area that can have a terminal closed or fire a lot of drivers and that's cross dumping reg into super for the dealer. I have seen it happen where the company came in and spied for awhile and then fired a lot of them. The dealer complained that other drivers would do it and he thought it wasn't fair. He also made an issue that some product was left in the truck because the driver did not drain the compartment all the way. He claimed he was losing thousands of dollars per year. The company got those drivers as well that didn't give the full load to the station. You never know whose watching.

We get watched pretty regularly.Havent heard anything about employee free gas.
Dont think that benefits gonna make it to me.We drain everything down,or thats
how Ive been trained.
The bad drivers around here get put on a list.Its not so easy to get on with other carriers
if you get knicked doing something bad.The stations have a list of drivers,and wont allow you back.
Im learning all sorts of good stuff !Keep it clean,and keep a job -

I never really get out of a station in less than 30 minutes. I am only set up with 3" hoses, so my drop speed is usually between 225-300 gallons/minute, depending on the station. I have a 3 axle trailer and pushers on my truck, so I weigh 98k.
i can't understand why any company would want you to hurry. a mistake costs a lot more money than a driver taking a few extra minutes at stations. being careful takes time. not being careful can cost your life. -

Hay gashauler you need the 30 foot hose so you can drop truck / trailer at same time? We just have 45 foot trailers and every thing is right there. Just wondering how much extra work the pup trailer is. Tks

Just about every drop we will have gas flowing from the trailer and truck at the same time. The 30' is in the trailer tube and we try not to use that one. If we use 3 hoses we'll use the 20' for regular and unload 3200 from the truck then move the hose to the trailer. The other short hoses will be used to get the other products off. Most stations have the underground regular tank located in the middle of the fittings. It takes a little practice to get the truck spotted right but after you go into these stations many many times you get it. -
yeah they are the thick black hoses that are for pumping. I do a lot of pump jobs into bulk plants. I'm in ND. Oil country/farm country

30 foot hose?!?! That's insane.. We don't really even need 20 foot hoses.. Now and then you come across a station that you need it.. Usually 10 foot hoses are long enough to get the job done.. The 20 foot hoses are heavy as hell with Diesel, I can't imagine a 30 foot one.
Delivering gas in pump hoses are probably not the best thing, The gas will dry those out pretty quick and they will start to split.. But if that is what they give you then you have to work with it.
I got a question for you guys, Here in MA it's a law to cap all hoses if they go inside a hose tube.. If you have trays you are not required to cap them because they say the vapors in the hose will evaporate in trays versus inside a tube where the vapors are trapped.. So do you cap them? Or leave them open.. I know fuel oils are different.. -
Only time I cap is after using hoses for diesel , just to keep everything clean.
