StarQual is not LS. They are only a company hired to do the qualifications. They do not write the contracts, only run down a driver's references, etc.

According to the presentation from the LS Carrier Services Group about a month ago they are still doing the 98%. I believe the confusion is that you are relying on marketing material that dummies it down for you. My notes say 67% of 98%. And that works out to about 65%. And this has been in line with most of the drivers that have more current contracts have told me.

And more importantly you are playing yourself off as authoritative on these subjects yet one of the top issues in our industry (in terms of O/O's being abused) is skimming and lack of transparency. And your minimizing this serious issue of stealing from O/O's shows how little you really know about what is happening in this industry.
And yeah, you have me a little worked up. You insult me and call me a cheat. And you know what, because you have no experience in running a trucking business I pointed out (as did others) your misunderstanding of the regulations. But rather than acknowledge that you may have misunderstood something and apologize you ignore (indicating you stand-by you insult) what anyone has to say and look for the tiniest thing to "prove" you are right.
Sir, there is much you don't know about your company. Read a 10-K, 10-Q and annual report. Listen to an analyst conference call. Read what the analysts that follow LS and this industry are saying. It is my belief that LS is moving in a positive direction. Buy you are not going to learn any of this from a glossy, marketing produced news letter. -
I'm "assuming" O/O's running under F2F are already "pre-approved" to pull loads from them, based on your authority being onboard?
I had some questions about the "Broker Board" contract (more along the lines of insurance requirements) http://www.landstar.com/ContentPages/BrokerServices/ConBrkAgree/061510-US CARRIER PACKET.pdf - Transportation Brokerage Agreement (paragraphs 10 & 11), but I guess I'll save them for another time...

Bill you are correct they are from the Rockford area ..
Starqual, Inc.
1000 Simpson Rd.
Rockford, IL 61102 -
An O/O - "leased on" to LS - is exclusively leased - runs under THEIR authority, and is bound to their percentage/lease agreement. Still trying to figure out what the difference between an "O/O Leased" and a "BCO" on the Landstar system.

Rick -
All I can say ( and I'm not a authority ) is I was told that the percentage was of 98% at LS .. This was told to me by Star Qual which we now know is a subsidiary of LS .( by subsidiary I mean could be independently owned but 100% monitored by LS ) Not sure as to why they would have told me this if they changed it in the early 2000's as Autocar Stated .
I can only share what I'm told
The info I find online states the StarQual has independently owned offices and are monitored by LS . LS pays a fee to StarQual per file rendered on a set agreement .Dominion Transportation Thanks this. -
I take, with a large grain of salt, when you say you love LS, but then turn around and slam them every chance you get, both here and at other sites.
