Hi All,
Anyone have any reports good or bad on ABF Freight? Anyone had any experience with thier driver training program? I am looking at them for a possible starter career in the business.
I filled out their online application and am waiting to hear what thier program is.
Any info would be much aprreciated.
Thanks

ABF has been around for a long time. They used to come to our terminal in FTW for interline in the 70's and 80's. Used to be a teamster company. Don't know if they still are or not. I would imagine they have a good school. If they are still union only drawback is seniority for new hire. You can get laid off or bounced around when bid time comes around.
Check it out and let everyone know how it goes. Good luck! -
Having talked to several of their local p & d drivers, I would say if you can get in there "GO FOR IT". As I understand it, they are union, but pay very nice wages, but as stated above, with the Teamsters there will be good and bad. I do not think they offer any school here though, but that may vary by location. Good Luck, hope you get in, as from what I have heard/seen they are a very nice outfit to work for.

ABF will run you threw school that they are affiliated with, not actually abf,Ithink they even pay you. After that they send you to a term that needs help might be halfway across the country. You will be bottom guy when things get slow you don't work!
