Waking a driver up to let him know you're truck is gonna be running and might keep him awake. That is SMART! -
I pull reefer. If I am forced to park next to other trucks, I put myself between two nose-first trucks, so my reefer is near the rear of their truck. Spots like this are usually easy to find. If I arrive at a truck stop first, I park as far away as I can from drivers with their windows down. If I can, I will nose into a corner.
If I'm somewhere with pull-through parking spots and I have to take one, I always try to park opposite face from the trucks next to me.
I know I don't have to do any of this, but I really find it unnecessary to park with my reefer blasting right next to a dry van sleeper.Rocks Thanks this. -

Tonight I am parked at our terminal in Louisville. Its near the airport and directly over the flight path of inbound flights. I very politely called the flight tower and asked them to divert all flights away from the area tonight, but they flat out refused. I plan on writing a strongly worded letter about this.
