Shoprite in Breingisville, PA is pretty bad as well. I think its actually worse than a C & S, If that's possible.

I got about 5 pallets that breaks down to 10 but they don't let you do it yourself here so I been waiting for 2.5 hrs in the door to get my paperwork. The last time I was here they were real quick but not tho time. And my next stop has to get scheduled for tommorow. Thanks a lot target dc lake city fl.

Can you park here over night or before your appt? Looks like I may be heading here Friday. If not are there any good places to park close by? Don't get down to this neck of the woods much but it may end up being a dedicated run for me.

My outfit usually tries to plan these long del's on overnight hours. At least we can sleep while we're in the dock if it ends up being 4, 6, 8 hours to unload.

I've been to the Hatfield, MA one once or twice. I never had a bad time there. Every other one? Different story.

I go to Hatfield regularly. They ALWAYS take a while. I don't know about drivers saying they don't pay detention, because I collect $50/hr after four hours and almost always walk away with $100-$200 a night. I don't mind. I get to do a 10 on their lot, get paid to sleep, and then make the rest of my drops in the morning. And, the lumpers are reimbursed for me.

They are pretty rough dealing with them. The two clerks are working 3 13-hr days. But, you can go eat in their cafeteria in the morning and it's really cheap.

And yes, the diner in Whately is still open. That's where I go hang out before my delivery every time I'm up that way. If you walk across I-91 to the Final Markdown, there's a guy that sells fresh raspberries and strawberries (amongst other produce). Well worth the walk.

Ok to answer my own question no you can't park on the property (Target DC Lake City, FL), BUT their is a Huddle House across the street with a huge truck parking area. So far three trips to target DC is lake City, FL and no problems. 2-3 hour unld time is pretty run of the mill for Grocery warehouses.

Target DC in Ft Worth TX is much, much worse. almost always a 4 hour or more ordeal whether its a full load or partial, no where to park (overnight parking not allowed on property,) and very tight space backing into docks.

I go into Hatfield almost weekly and enjoy every time. They are pretty decent to get along with and no one bothers you when you park in the back lot. Now Westfield, MA is a different story...had to deal with those (you fill in the blank) last night into this morning. They hate drivers unloading themselves and purposely make it harder for you. I'm so happy I only go to Westfield once every 6-8 months.

I don't really have a problem with C&S most of the problems come from the Lazy ### Lumpers.......I have been sitting at the warehouse in Upper Marlboro MD for the last 5 hours and I already paid the Lumpers (No choice).....Lumping a huge fing scam...

Unfortunately I have to deliver to C&S in Stockton once or twice a month.

I hate them with a passion.

Its starts with getting in there in the morning. The guard gives you a door to back into, not to unload, but to park so you can go see the receiver to get a door to unload. I'll get there an hour early because I know the routine. I'll be waiting in line to see the receiver and then suddenly I have to leave the line to move my truck because someone needs the door I'm parked in. Then when I get back in line the guy I was behind is already done so I am at the end of the line again. Then they want me to move my truck again. I've learned to just ignore anyone asking "Who's in door 23?".

Then when you tell the receiver that your going to lump your own load, they tell you that you have 2 hours to finish or they will send in their guys to finish for you and charge you for the privilege. Oh,.. and they typically want $160 - $250 to lump between 6 - 13 pallets. Their pallet jacks are bent on purpose to discourage you from unloading yourself. I typically complete my load in 45 mins. Then their receivers will ignore you for another 1 - 2 more hours. You complain and they tell you to just go wait by your door. The only way I can get my point across is to threaten to charge them detention pay for holding me up from my next stop.

Then to add insult to injury,.. I paid $176 for them to lump 8 pallets once. I waited almost 4 hours before I got my paperwork. I asked what about the 2 hour rule?

    Pffft. I hate that place.
