sorry man. i haven't been hopme to check the mail lately.
you know, i've been doing that outlaw thing. DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE. got no time to checkthe mail.
oh yeah. I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RUN ELOGS. IN FACT. TWO OF THEM. but mine don't come with trackers. really a big head ache saver when it comes to the math. but i think i'm gonna buy two more to run my elogs. cuz 24 hours in a day just isn't enough time to pay the tax man.
MAILBOX UNFULL. try again please. i'll read the message on my next pee break. it's the only time i have to actually STOP.

Raiderfanatic said: ↑This is the attitude that bothers me. It says you've got less than one year experience. So I'm guessing all you have ever done is E-Logs. You have no idea what it's like to actually have to log your day then.
The having to stay at a shipper/receiver instead of driving ten miles to a truck stop is one thing I couldn't deal with. For instance, we deliver sand to a place in Lincoln, NE all the time. It's a solid 3 1/2 hour blow off there, once you finally get a hold of someone to give you the okay. Numerous times the 14 hour clock has long expired by the time you're done unloading. There's no way I'm staying there when Shoemakers is ten minutes away.
Or, just like last week, I took a load of starch from Columbus, NE to Russellville, AR. The Flying J is 5-10 minutes away from the customer. I didn't start my log when I left the next morning to run over to unload. I waited until I finished unloading and was ready to actually truck. With E-Logs, that would not be possible.
It would be different if I was actually out busting my rear working. But most of the time unloading, you're sitting in the truck watching TV, listening radio whatever....Jump out everyone once in a while to check gauges or switch hoppers. I only have to show 15 minutes for unload at that customer in that city. Doesn't matter if it's a 5 hour blow off or 45 minutes.
I'm just finding it hard to believe that E-logs are going to be beneficial. I kinda wonder what the drivers I talked to were making before going to E-Logs. I will make over 52 grand again this year. I get percentage of load. I just think I would lose a significant amount of loads if I was being electronically logged.

The days of Dallas to L.A in 22 hours are over.. We are tracked in so many ways now they can call comdata and get a trail off your card... If you use Pre Pass (I don't).. Scale houses entering vin's that are time stamped.. I know all the tricks used them too... and I don't like elogs.. but they are the change that is coming we have all stood apart for to long and they are knocking on the door... Fight it as long as you can but it is coming.. Hell the trucks even have trackers built in to the ecm.. gives rpms road speed.. hard braking and fast acceleration.. Big brother is here and they did it without so much as a nose bleed..lonelyswmtrucker, NavigatorWife, TLeaHeart and 1 other person Thank this. -
Just because you have been doing anything for a long time, does not mean you are correct, or know everything. It just means you have been doing the same thing, the same way for a long time. Maybe right, maybe wrong, and the world has changed, and is leaving you behind.
Produce can be run easily with elogs, just takes a new attitude, and a new way of thinking....
And some old timers don't want to change, and think their way is the only way.Autocar Thanks this. -
