Had my time with the Minnesota scale in March 2010 because I had glasses on but not on the license or medical. Poster by the name of Tazz thought I was making it up. Guess he will be saying the same here.

I'm tempted to say I don't believe it. Then again I don't really care, well that's not true I do care. I hope you get points, in fact go for broke and max it out. The worse you do the easier you make it for me to achieve my safety goals. So next time thru be sure to "settle up" with that guy.

I left the scale with no points and a very red faced mad inspector.

When I renewed my license and medical card this time, I was able to read the tests without the glasses. I asked both to go ahead and put the glasses on there because I did not want a repeat.

    Meltom Thanks this.

I wear clear safety glasses when I drive at night (they are the same make and model as my sunglasses, just clear). Got to the Canada border and dude asks why I'm wearing them. I didn't even know how to answer that. I can't count the number of times owls have popped up from the side of the road and almost came through the windshield. Safety first I said....

Yep, we had a driver get parked on the side of the road in Houston by one of the a-hole cops because he didn't have his glasses. They made anther driver go out there in the service truck, pick his truck up, and have him drive the service truck back- still without his glasses.

Luckily it was close to the shop.

Another example of CSA failing at its intended purpose.
Also as one poster said, maybe you just got a Richard Noggin. That scale is full of them.

Well what did you expect?? There was a rrestriction on your license yes? Was the officer an optometrist to verify your Lasik claim? Could he have cut you slack? Maybe, but judging by your story I would say your fairly sloppy not keeping license current, and being over axle. I say you got what you deserve and I would correct my license to no longer have that restriction listed because he is quite correct without glasses that license is worthless.

Oh Roadmedic really. First your story started with wearing glasses in to the scale but not having them on your medical card and ended with them being sun glasses. Forgive me if I rank that right up with the marshalls came and straightened him out that you could indeed wear your sun glasses.

This instance the OP was clearly in violation by operating a CMV without a valid CDL as his need for glasses had changed but he decided keeping his license current was not a necessity. I am guessing he has since fixed it. And learned a valuable lesson in the process.

Basically he could have been placed OOS just like if he had been OD OS without permit, are hauling HM with no endorsement, a tank inside a van with no endorsement.

Good luck OP. Nice to hear companies keeping their poop in a group matters to them.

Of course they are not going to change anything in a dataq challenge. First it's admitting they made a mistake. If you go to the officer's supervisor, (s)he is going to back up his subordinant every time because if (s)he doesn't, it shows they did not train their troops correctly.

    It's always the driver's fault....
